College is expensive. Luckily, these restaurants aren't.

This is the dumbest fucking article. If you want food on a student budget, go to Safeway or 7-Eleven. How out of touch do you need to be to recommend pre-made Whole Foods?

@1: Everybody likes to go out for a meal now and then. Deep breaths, buddy. Students already know about Safeway and, of course, their cafeteria meal plan. But how many knew they could get a patio restaurant experience at just an expensive grocery store price (which is much lower than a restaurant price in this case)?

Good U District recommendations. Here's another: Kong Tofu House, Ground Floor of Russell Hall, 1414 NE 42nd. Tasty, inexpensive huge portions of bibimbap, tofu salad, chicken teriyaki, with lots of side dishes. Great place for students to get a huge, cheap meal out.

You forgot the GodFather of a lot of cheap food. Hawaiian BBQ on The Ave.
