I'm not sure if "congratulations" is the right word, given the subject matter, but I hope Sydney is in some way pleased that this very important local story has made its way into a television show she loves so much.

I don't think I've added my voice to the chorus yet, but: well done, Sydney. Keep doing good work. You honor the profession.

Great job on the Standing Rock reporting. Wow.

I was a bit disappointed with Sydney's comment on "brown people" overseas and Hillary's potential hawkishness. As someone with a "brown" girlfriend with "brown" family in a "brown" country overseas who could very likely see the destruction wrought by her hawkishness, I thought she was far too dismissive of this possibility, and very tone deaf and in contrast to her own progressiveness. What should be genuine outrage seems to be tempered by Hillary's gender. That's a major issue. By Blabbermouth's own admission, Hillary is kinda republicany...and Bernie is not. He was supporting gay rights in the early 1980s, and Hillary (and Obama) were speaking out AGAINST gay marriage in 2008. I worry that Hillary's policies, her hawkishness, her friendliness with big corporations are getting overlooked in favor of her gender.

I think many progressives preferred the revolution to look a certain way; an old white man was not who they wanted to lead it, and so they pretend that Hillary is a lot better than she is. Sure, some Bernie supporters were loud and obnoxious (I went off on the Berniebro on my FB friends list, and eventually unfollowed him because of his neverhillary bullshit), but you'll find assholes in any crowd. It wasn't unique to Bernie, and I suspect it was way overblown. Being passionate about a political movement often entails being loud and firm and argumentative. We should discuss the issues, not avoid the issues by name calling, i.e., assigning a label that dismisses your opponent (even if he so happens to be male and opinionated) and allows you to ignore the arguments in favor of an ad hominem.
