I find this "should we delay impeachment" discussion utterly bizarre.

"we" (Democrats) don't control either house of congress. We should be calling for impeachment because it's the right thing to do. "We" should vote to impeach if given a chance. But, to state what should be obvious but seems missing from this discussion, the timing of impeachment, should it happen, is entirely dependent on Republicans. We have no control over the timing (unless you think that by calling for it we can compel Republicans to do it, which isn't remotely plausible.)

Obviously, as Eli says, it would be grossly immoral to delay impeachment for strategic electoral purposes if we somehow could, for all the obvious reasons, but that's entirely hypothetical.

Trump "asked him to leave the room" when he asked Comey to drop the investigation. Trump stated that Flynn lied to Pence and did not tell him about Russia.

Donald Trump is doing everything he can to get impeached short of raping someone in a Lady Liberty costume during a joint session of Congress. I guess he's saving that for the State of the Union address.

Why is everyone working so hard to keep poor little Mikey Pence ignorant and uninformed? If Trump is as crazy and/or drunk as he appears to be, why does he keep jerking his Pence off?

@5: It's generally known that we don't have to worry about a drunk Trump, as he claims abstaining from alcohol after his brother Fred died in 1981. He is quite anti-alcohol and anti-drugs as a father.

Great show guys, but one slight correction:

the Lee monument was erected after the end of the reconstruction period in the 1880's, not during the civil Rights era of the 1960's.

Most of the Confederate monuments were buil decades after the war because of the history of the reconstruction period-1865 to late 1870's- which was a relatively anarchic period of partial federal rule in the southern states. So obviously these monuments would not have been erected tell much later.

I say stuff Trumpzilla and Pencezilla and their fellow RepubliKKKan ilk with Big Macs until they all have 4-alarm heart attacks and major strokes, Heart-Attack Cafe style, put forks in their asses and be done with 'em already. Then no impeachment proceedings would be necessary.

I favor not impeaching Trump, simply because it would make Pence potus and give him a real chance of winning in 2020, especially if the dems and progressives can't unify again. Trump's an incompetent nutjob who's in way over his head but Pence is traditional GOP and right now they're looking good when compared with Trump. Some of his own supporters are finally starting to wake up, his approval ratings among them have gone down more than ten percent recently.

They both want to destroy and/or enslave the poor and middle class for their own ends, and destroy the planet too, but if we have Trump until 2020, the GOP will be buried for years to come under Trump's mess. They'll lose the House, we'll have a dem in the WH again, and maybe, just maybe, the GOP moderates will start talking to and working with the democrats again so we can move the country forward.
