Rich Smith today: As Democrats, we shouldn't encourage more conservative Democrats to run in rural/conservative areas because tacking to the center is why we keep losing.

Rich Smith a couple of months ago: As Democrats, we shouldn't object to anti-choice candidates like Heath Mello because purity tests are why we keep losing.

Stick to local politics.
You are out of your range past the Ship Canal and Yesler.

I think we need less of the purity tests because they are a big factor for why being politically active on the left is so toxic.

@4 What do you think "politics" is?

The purpose of a political party is to capture and deploy power on behalf of the constituent interest groups that comprise the party's coalition. That's what the Republicans do and its also what the Democrats do. Because that's what politics *is*

If your purpose is to insult the Democrats, go back to the drawing board.

The Dems can take a totally awesome position on health care but if they continue to be the same warmongering pigs they were during the Obama administration (for example, see his illegal, undeclared wars in seven Third World countries) they still won't be worth a shit (or a vote).

Please wait...
