The ICYMI removed any doubt that one might have had as to whether John McCain writes his own Twitter. Whatever 22-year-old is writing it needs to focus on making it just a tad more believable...
2
i can't wait for twitter* to die. so boring.

*replace twitter with john mccain

I agree. Twitter, other than for media types or people with their own linked stories or blogs they themselves write, is over.

It's like he's trying to become a 20th Century Man, and we're in the 21st Century, man.

Today's Tom Sawyer mean mean price ...

(le sigh)
4
The Metamucil might finally be kicking in - w00t!
5
@1: remember he's ex-military, and the military do love their acronyms...
6
I'm over 25...what does ICYMI mean??
7
In Case You Missed It -- that's more like 40 year old mommy blogger lingo than teen lingo.
8
hmm, yeah, he should be posting on twitter about baby animal pictures and ""There's always some holiday for kids." Fucking kids." (get off my lawn!) right slog?

with your 31 updates, 430 followers but only 6 return follows - http://twitter.com/strangerslog - you are a paragon of advice on how to use twitter.
9
I've been forced to do twitter for a class, and aside from LeVar Burton and Shaq, there aren't many interesting people on there. Plus fucking internet marketers have started following me like flies to a dead dog in a wheelbarrow.
10
I probably have about half marketers following me, but that's their prob.
11
I'm definitely under 25 & didn't have a clue about ICYMI - I guess I assumed it was some sort of FOX/Conservative acronym, like WWJD except about politics? But then I don't use Twitter, so I don't really count.
12
When you google ICYMI, the third result is from soundpolitics.com. Definitely a FOX NEWS type acronym.
13
@8 - I could care less whether people return follow me. Let's be honest here - how much gratification do you really get from knowing that someone auto-followed you? It may be good twitter manners, but it's bloody stupid. I'm glad to see someone bucking the trend, whether it's from ignorance of the "rules" or not.

Whatever you think of McCain...he's still an elected Senator.

Which is 100 times the achievement of most Sloggers and their families combined.

And if you think Obama condones such irascible behavior, think again...you loudmouths will not find a home in the Obama White House...but John McCain would....because both want to build up the People, not tear them down.
15
"I am taking Beau to the train station."

"I am putting my hand down his pants at the stop light."
16
@3, it's "pride" not "price". Rhymes with "stride".

A modern day warrior
Mean mean stride,
Today's Tom Sawyer
Mean mean pride.
17
He's too old to be using twitter just like Dan's too old to brag about his sex life on the Slog.
18
ICU81MI. Hilarious!
19
I like oatmeal! Where's that cunt I'm married to?
20
@13 it's not about rules as there are no "rules". the whole point of twitter is short conversations with others and you can't have conversations if you are just talking to yourself. oh wait, self-indulgent navel gazers LIKE that kind of thing.

it's like going to a party, people are trying to talk to you, but you're too busy telling yourself (and laughing at) your own jokes. if you don't want to form a group of reciprocal friends on twitter then why are you even there?
21
@20 paraphrased:

There are no rules, but you have to do it a certain way.

22
To me the Twitter shows a bit of sophistication for his age so I am quite impressed with McCain. For example, he uses a Tinyurl for the links to videos because of the Twitter limit on the number of characters that can be used.
23
Don't kill him!
24
#22, Twitter changes long urls to tinyurls - automatically. No understanding of tinyurls necessary.
25
@3 thats totally my ringtone.
26
I am sure one of his grandkids is helping him with it.

Please wait...
