The event was a BLAST!!!!!! You guys need to be there next year if you didn't make it. Without being there, I really can't put how much fun the weekend was into words.
I was there when the little kid dressed as Abe Sapien wandered over to where Doug Jones was sitting. First his manager started fawning over how good the costume was, then Doug Jones sees it. He comes out from behind his table, does an "I'm not worthy" bow in front of the kid, compliments the little boy on all the attention to detail, and proceeds to have a long conversation with the little kid who went through all that trouble to look like him.
Doug Jones didn't have to do any of that, but once you meet him, you realize that he is one of the kindest people on the face of the Earth. I'm not talking about him being pretty cool for a famous guy, I mean the man radiates kindness and compassion like a bodhisattva.
