Hahahah, this is why straight m/f porn grosses me out. The guys are generally ugly, hairy, and either overmuscled or fat and stupid, grunts are gross, they talk too much, and cumshots do not make me "empathize".
2) You do need time and experience to figure out your sexuality--and odds are it'll probably change a little bit with experimentation, in the sense that your taste will change over the years based on your emotional, physical and psychosexual development and your experiences. I like different things now than I did at 16 (though pretty boys still figure pretty centrally, at least in fantasy!).
3) Why does it have to be about identifying with the girl OR with the guy? I started watching porn in elementary school when I found my mom's stash. It was pretty instructive for my teenage sex life, but at the time I was much more interested in girl-on-girl porn, as well. I grew up to be a straight woman, and have never had any inclination to kiss much less do anything sexual with a woman in real life. Even as an adult, the things that get me off when I'm watching porn are not even remotely related to anything I would get into in real life.
