I laughed out loud when I read that. I hope it's just editorial flair, because no one should be shocked when stuff like this happens anymore. Angry? Sure. Saddened? Of course. But shocked? No.

Um... what is your point with the third one, are you implying that he is a pedophile? If you are you are bassicaly saying that my mom is a pedophile as well as she is also a youth paster and connects to her youth group through face book as it is the easiest way to get in contact with them and I could see here using text messages as well.

What a lot of these groups did wrong is that, unlike my denomination the UCC, they don't have mandatory safeguards to prevent situations where an adult could assault a youth. These are the same types of measures that were put in place by the BSA after it's molestation scandals. An adult shouldn't be left alone with a youth as their should be another adult or youth at all times, preferably both. Now unfortunately it isn't always the case, but a lot of these groups aren't even trying to protect the kids.
