Dan, yes the right hated Clinton and was going to try anything they could to remove him from office but Clinton KNEW they were gunning for him and went ahead and screwed around with Lewinsky anyway. That was boneheaded and/or arrogant beyond belief.

I'm really worried -- as is, I'm sure the Secret Service -- that some hateful crazed right-winger is going to try to assassinate Obama, and I'm amazed that all the visceral hate for Bush by lefties never resulted in one assassination attempt over the course of eight years.

To me, this is the most interesting bit in the NYT piece:
[Merletti] recalled that in August 1998, the F.B.I. told him a dress owned by Ms. Lewinsky did not have the president’s DNA on it, even though it did, apparently to try to catch Mr. Merletti in a conspiracy if he passed along the false information to Mr. Clinton...

There are always holdovers from previous administrations who, rather than doing strictly what they're getting paid for, manipulate and plot. This is the main reason puppetmaster Dick Cheney stays in the DC area rather than returning to Wyoming.

That @9 being said, it's readily argued that Monica's daddy issues and cock-hunger (she told a friend before even going to DC that she had gotten her presidential kneepads) and Clinton's cupidity enabled Bush's Oedipal war on Iraq, resulting in at minimum hundreds of thousands of deaths and $2-3 trillion in expenses by the time we finish providing lifetime care for wounded soldiers. I don't give a shit where a president sticks his dick (or bares her puss), but obviously enough people did to give those blowjobs the consequences they ended up having.

If you are lucky the Republicans will pick up a few Senate seats in November, the Democrats will no longer have a filibuster-proof majority, and Democrats can go back to blaming Republicans for everything.

If something does happen to Obama I vote we pass the hat and raise money to bus the rioters into the neighborhoods that have the highest percentage of FOX viewers. That way the 'Gawd, Guns, N' Glory' crowd of real Amurikans can have a chance to show off that their "I'm a big, ol' butch redneck and we'll put you wussy, faggot libruls in yer place" rhetoric ain't just hot air. I for one, would love to see who's got bigger rocks: Faux news watching Bush-tards or The Crips.
