Holy fucking shit. Violence sure is trendy right now.
2
But it'll just be another loner, no political motivation whatsoever, nothing to see here, move along.

Tucson was just the beginning.
3
Well I'm sure he was defending himself from the tyranny around us.
4
Would not be surprised if it's one of those white supremacists.
5
Fracking America-hating Tea Bagger Racists!

Probably came in from Idaho.
6
Tucson wasn't the start- in 2008 there was a bombing here in Oregon by some Right Wingnuts that left two police officers dead, and of course there was that fellow who flew the plane into an IRS building in Texas last year, killing himself and a federal employee.

People are just starting to pay attention because a little kid was killed and someone with a higher profile ended up in the ICU.
7
Those look like the kind of t-shirts someone would by at Value Village.
8
Oh, and how could I forget the Rand Paul rally curbstomping.
9
@6: goes back to the assassinations of Dr. Slepian an Dr. Tiller as well..
10
"Certainly just another product of our deficient mental health system, nothing more. If everyone in that parade had a gun they would've had nothing to worry about."

Was that OK? Did I make the talking points correctly?
11
Didnt a Right Wing Christian group bomb a planned parenthood in Spokane back in 1996?
12
The human race has a lot of crazy, sick mutherfukkers!
13
If theres no political/ideological motive, and it ends up being (another) crazy, thats a pretty big coincidence - I'm willing to bet it was some white supremecist(s?) - for one thing, it was an MLK day parade, for another....aren't there a lot of white supremecists in that area?
course, it could be a totally nut job, a loner, not the slightest bit politically motivate - but I doubt that.
14
Holly scheisse!!!
15
There are a series of unsolved/unexplained pipe bomb and fake bomb incidents in Moses Lake. Not Spokane, but Spokane is probably where you'd go from Moses lake to find a good-sized MLK parade.

On the other hand - literally - there's Idaho.
16
This is nothing new around here. If you're walking down the street and you're NOT scanning the area around you for bombs you are a fool indeed. Just google Spokane Bomb. It's frightening how many stories you will find.
17
Wow, good job FBI. You're investigating a bomb plot you didn't create. Thanks.
18
Near Nazis, near perfect!
19
Spokane is quite close to Hayden Lake, ID, former white supremacist home base.
I once worked for an airline that flew out of Spokane, and all of our bomb threats and psychotic passengers seemed to originate there.

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, Washington has 15 hate groups, Idaho has 9. Idaho also has a stereotype that Seattleites can't seem so see past...

21
@10: Not quite. This is Spokane, so everyone in the parade DID have a gun.
22
@ 20, if you look a bit more closely at the SPLC listing, 6 of the 9 Idaho groups are in Northern Idaho, 2 of the 15 Washington groups are in Eastern Wa.

One of the Eastern Wa groups Is an splinter of an earlier Northern Idaho group (or vise-versa).

Not to excuse Washington loons and goons, especially Western Washington ones, but that Idaho stereotype has been goin on at least since the 70s when I was growing up in that neck of the woods.

THIS IS TERRORISM. I hope the FBI finds the person or people responsible and puts them away for a long time.

Please wait...
