even the troll feels sorry for black homosexuals, a minority within a racist minority

I loved AY's video. I'm so happy you included her!

"so alone" in burlington ontario?
WHEREEVER ARE ALL THE GAY PEOPLE? I AM FOREVER ALONE IN THE WILD DEPTHS OF BURLINGTON!

You're on the GO train line.
Half an hour from Toronto.
The fare is 7 dollars. Probably about 5 at the time.
You know, big, gay friendly, multicultural Toronto. I'm fairly certain it's the Mecca of Queer People of Colour. 5 dollars and 45 minutes away. My heart, it bleeds for you.

For anyone who is curious about rural, agrarian Burlington, and it's location deep in the remotest hill country of the Greater Toronto Area.

Chill, Caralain. For many 15/16 year olds, 45 minutes away might as well be a thousand miles. Some are amazingly resourceful and perfectly confident in making treks to explore areas they don't know, but it's not completely unreasonable if they aren't.

Part of the point of the project and what AY said in her video is that while you FEEL alone and isolated and doomed, reality is not so drab, people are out there and waiting to love and accept you- even if you don't realize it. Take hope, kids. Here are some examples. And resources.

Also, the GTA 'burbian black communities can be pretty homophobic. I can totally imagine a black teenage girl in Burlington thinking that only white people accept gays, so she'll have to choose between her orientation and her racial/cultural community.

I was a 14 year old girl on the other side of the GTA, and I managed to scrape together 14 dollars every other week to go to Toronto to keep my sanity. You can actually do it on $5 if you know what you're doing. Burlington is so close that Torontonians regularly go clubbing there. Being alone, yes, but the whole 'I was living in Burlington Ontario, after all!' part is ridiculous. There are rural parts of Ontario, where you really are alone. Burlington ain't one of them. It's like saying I'm gay and Black and all alone in Brooklyn, New York State! Where can all the gay Black people be? ;_;

Please wait...
