We're not part of Britain or its Commonwealth, where candidates are often selected by national party leaders and parachuted into local districts and trumping local interests.

If he tries a stunt like this, he's going to have to go to all the local Democratic Party organizations and tell them, convince them how he's superior to all the local talent we have available.

A tall order. Ain't going to happen.

Regardless of his political plans, I appreciated his marching with us on May Day.

Inslee changing districts within Washington was controversially enough, even though he had very strong ties in both districts. Changing states, across the country is not going to happen. Even if it was, could we get Grayson instead? At least he's funny.

Kucinich needs to convince one of those Southern Ohio districts with no jobs and full of Oxcontin overdoses, that they should perhaps start voting their own financial interests. As I recall Boehner's district is so poor, logically it should vote D(not that logic matters obviously).

Meant "controversial"/preempting pedants

@1 lol. How naive you are.

National figures move all the time. Just ask Chicago who their mayor is.
6
If Kucinich ran for Inlee's seat, he'd lose, and badly. The 1st district is not nearly liberal enough to elect someone like Kucinich, especially if he parachutes in from another state.
7
Will @5, Chicago's mayor is a former Chicago Congressman with deep roots in the community. Next comparison?

@3, my thoughts exactly. This isn't going to work, and if it were, I'd much rather we got Alan Grayson out of the deal. He's smart, funny, and effective. Dennis is always tilting at windmills, as much for his own self-aggrandizement as anything else.
9
Wow! Imagine if we had TWO Jim McDermotts in our state. We'd get even more nuthin'!

Gaah. This could start a trend. Self-important politicians roam around the country claiming their right to represent people they've never met. The Republicans give us jillionaires that have never served in public office. And now the Democrats give us has-beens who don't have the political clout to protect their own district? No thanks.

And, as usual, Will makes a complete fool out of himself. Please. Stop. Digging.

Please wait...
