In the Qunited States of Gaymerica this is what passes for political discourse; you scream "you are a do-do head!" at your opponent over and over.
Except for the debates, of course, which will feature actual poo flinging...
The real torture is the butthurt Santorum feels whenever anyone googles his name. John McCain's five years in the Hanoi Hilton is nothing compared to that.
@1: Don't you remember yesterday how we fixed this for you? Here's what Canadian Nurse suggested you do: Why don't you use an RSS reader that lets you only open the articles you're interested in?
I feel badly for Rick Santorum’s kids, wife, siblings, parents, grandparents, and other Santorum folks that have their once proud name obliterated by a thoughtless, mean-spirited, short-sighted, childish, and ultimately anti-gay neologism.
@10: I too feel badly for Rick Santorum’s kids, wife, siblings, parents, grandparents, and other Santorum folks that have their once proud name obliterated by a thoughtless, mean-spirited, short-sighted, childish, and ultimately anti-gay douche bag named Rick Santorum.
@10 I feel badly for the kids, wife, siblings, parents, grandparents of queer folks and those queer folks themselves who have their very existence attacked and their dignity obliterated and by a thoughtless, mean-spirited, short-sighted, childish, and ultimately anti-gay Santorum.
Get over yourself @10. Santorum is a spiteful, hateful man. And I'm sorry- but if this helps keep him out of any position of power over anyone else it's absolutely fine and relatively harmless. If his children eventually feel bad about this appropriation they can change their name. So can the wife. And the parents? Sorry- but the apple doesn't fall far from the tree when it comes to religious bigotry. I'm not feeling too bad for parents who spawned this asshole.
Raindrop, like other commenters have stated, I don't feel sorry for them for anything other than having Rick in their family. And to Swearingen, perhaps it'd be easier to be civil with people when they aren't out to demonize is and destroy our families.
Also Raindrop, you work to give people like Santorum power. I hope you feel deep shame for that someday.
@15: You don't know what you're talking about. Raindrop is a gay dude, Republican, but no supporter of Santorum, Gingrich, and other bigots in my party. Tell me now, how are the bigots in your party doing? Like the one in the White House?
Raindrop, you give that party power, the same party that is now trying to undo the repeal of DADT and that is hiring outside legal council to defend DOMA. So yes, you enable them.
@ 28 He must be too young to remember the Clinton years vs. the Bush years, in terms of fiscal responsibility, and the wonderful worldwide economic "depravity" that republican-endorsed deregulation of the financial system led to in 2008.
Yes Raindrop, we've once again established that the only thing you care about is money which is more important to you than, say, living people. It's evident in your comments and your concern trolling.
Again, I hope one day you feel deep shame for this.
@25, gotta say, Raindrop, you really don't understand economics. Historically, the Dems for all their legitimate faults have been better for the economy as a whole than the Republicans in every single category but one: the six-figure club.
If you make more than $100,000 per annum, you can make a reasonable, if short-sighted, argument for looking out for your own personal economic best interest. And I respect that. We can argue whether right-to-work (right to fire) laws, massive tax cuts, and privatization are in fact really in your long-term best interest, but the bottom line is that Republicans do concentrate more of the money into the hands of your economic class.
What really squicks is me out about you so-called fiscal conservatives is your insistence that your economic best interests are also MY economic best interests.
And if you don't already make more than $100,000 a year and still vote Republican For economic reasons, you're a victim of their poisonous propaganda.
@40: Then you should be a little happier that things are going better now that you have a D in the White House?
@39: There will always be bigots in both parties. Yes, the R's have more. I admit that. But everybody votes you know. Compromise is not only for politicians, it's for voters too. Both parties need their money. I don’t moan about reality, I deal with it.
@26: The neologism is ultimately anti-gay because it isn’t very pleasant imagery, right? That association will last longer than Rick Santorum’s political career.
@15 I thought Raindrop was a Lesbian? I swear s/he said that once. Anyway, if Raindrop doesn't support "Santorum, Gingrich, and other bigots in my party," that leaves Collins and Dukakis of Maine. Aren't they too liberal for you, Raindrop?
When it comes to fetuses, Santorum-frothy-mix is deeply concerned for their well-being. When it comes to torturees, he's frothing (yep) at the bit to torture them until they break. What a fine upstanding Christian he is.
@44 Thank you. It drives me crazy when people (STILL) imply that only gay men have anal sex, or that gay men only have anal sex. Especially when those people apparently read SLOG.
Anyway, there is nothing hateful about santorum, it's not even anti anal sex. It's just dirty and related to anal sex. Your supposed to avoid santorum, that's all.
Rick Santorum understands torture better than John McCain, because seeing that smug, dimwitted face every day in the mirror is worse than enduring bamboo shards under the fingernails.
Will you please grow up?
Except for the debates, of course, which will feature actual poo flinging...
There's a person who should Google Santorum.
rick santorum is a hateful, slithery power-hungry egomaniac. he's deserving of all of this.
plus, the appropriation of his name for the frothy mix is a pretty clever way of bringing him down a peg.
get used to it. santorum, like santorum, can be difficult to get rid of.
Why don't you use an RSS reader that lets you only open the articles you're interested in?
Spit spot, Swearengen! Problem solved!
Albert Einstein
Also Raindrop, you work to give people like Santorum power. I hope you feel deep shame for that someday.
John Horstman @16, good to know. I just tried it and spreadingsantorum.com did come up first either way.
hey Red
when are you Slogettes going to organize a 'Cuming Out!' party for Venom?
You exaggerate, hoss.
According to the CDC (only) 94% of homosexuals take it in the ass...
good point, Ritardo.
the years when a republican Congress forced Clinton to balance the budget are an excellent example of what is possible today.
(ps- your English is really coming along. keep at it!)
Soft on Terrorism: Republicans
Bigots: Republicans
Again, I hope one day you feel deep shame for this.
Nah, trolls pretty much want to get their strokes from the audience. (Ick!)
