1
investment in transit & infrastructure can't get support from elected representatives... shocker!!
2
Cowards. We need transit!
3
Scattering like cockroaches when the light of truth is turned on.
4
"Cowards. We need transit!"

You have transit.
5
"investment"

So cute when liberals try to use our vocabulary to describe taxes.
6
How's about we take the millions we're wasting on Capitol Hill's expensive new trolley and redirect it towards transit improvements?
7
If they run over the metro vote for bike sharrows then be prepared for the rest of the county to notice.

I think that voters will choose a $20 car tab that has a clear application, and reject the delicately parsed $80 car tab fee.
Expecting people to vote for both in the shitstorm of an economy is just unlikely, even if you are gifting half of the money as something for nothing.

Kill the Deeply Tolled Tunnel and fund transit instead.

@6 Why do we need the first hill street car anyways? I'm kind of lost on this one...

"HEY! King County Metro is running out of money, we're going to take a bunch of money to build a street car that goes along a route that is, generally, serviced by the 60, fuck up Broadway, and then bitch about running out of money so we'll make up the cost by charging more for car tabs!"

BRILLIANT!

The First Hill Streetcar is paid for completely by Sound Transit. The money can't be used by law for bus service. It was voted for in ST2 as a way to link the light rail stations together. Get your facts straight, people!
11
Cash-strapped, my ass. If you can afford to own and operate a car, you can afford these tabs.
13
@11

If you can afford an operate a bike, you can afford 20$ for bike registration tabs. See its easy to suggest this when youre not the one paying for it.

" If you can afford to own and operate a car, you can afford these tabs."

Thank you! Without condescending people like you how else could we get lower class voters to vote against new tax measures?

Also, please be sure to call these voters 'idiots', 'morons', whatever tickles your fancy.

@9,

The 60 doesn't run after 7 pm on weekends. It's also slow as dirt.

@11,

I see. So someone who's one of the many unemployed who needs their car to get to job interviews can easily afford it? Good to know.

Please wait...
