Fuck all y'all - I want me a foie gras yacht!
2
@1 I could sell you a map and detailed instructions for where to get one.

Are you comfortable with weapons?
3
TLDR; YACHT OF FOIE GRAS FUCK YES!!!!!!!!
4
With bells on, bitches!
5
Come on Seattle! Have you seen what's going on in Portland. We're not going to let them show us up, are we?
6
My son and I will be there on Saturday.
7
I can't physically be there. What's the best way to show support otherwise????
8
How much of this yaght can you eat ans still stay afloat? Or does getting fat from it help you float after the yaght is eaten?
9
Haven't made it down yet but I'll be there on Saturday. Thanks for posting.
10
Anyone want to put a bid in on the time when SLOG posts the first pictures of the marchers breaking windows on Capital Hill?
11
I'm only going to show up those fuckers in Portland.
12
@10, how about if businesses which support the cause put 99 posters in their windows? It will be like the businesses in the ghetto which avoided destruction during 60's race riots by writing "SOUL" on their shops.
13
This is perfect for me - I need a few things from Sephora right there anyway.
14
@12 - I think lamb's blood might be more effective.
15
@10: Dumb people do dumb things. That is a proven fact, and it doesn't take a genius to point it out. Do you have a point, or are you just getting this on the record so you can sit back and say "I told you so" when the inevitable happens?
16
@15 - I like the bit in this flier about keeping an eye out for other demonstrators being stupid. It's probably a good point for everyone at the protest to keep in mind.
17
@12, no need to get TOO biblical here.
@15 hopefully the dumb people stay away. But if the ruling powers don't start listening it's almost inevitable. Not advocating this, just acknowledging an ugly truth of large uprisings. If anyone is dumb enough to start smashing windows, hopefully they will be smart enough to smash the RIGHT windows.
18
@7: You can send items and funds to their Post Office Box. Right now, their greatest need is for warm blankets, hand warmers, gloves, etc. to get them through the late evenings. You can also call local restaurants and pay for food to be delivered to the protesters. They prefer hot, healthy food, of course, but are grateful for any food at all, including pizza and donuts.
19
"Hopefully the dumb people stay away"
Then who would protest?
20
If you can't protest because of distance or work, or you just are not into protesting but still think the message is worth supporting, consider going to your big bank, if you have one (Chase, Citibank, BoA), closing your account and opening a new account at a credit union, and tell the bank why.

I think I read this idea on a Slog comment a few days ago. What are the chances that that could catch on as part of the Occupy solidarity?

BECU apparently lets you open an account on line.
21
Let's have a Slog meetup beforehand.
22
Anyway we can get the local non active military to come out and join in their uniforms. I heard about that happening in NY and it seems like a pretty powerful image
23
@21 That's a great idea!
24
BECU does allow you to open an account online and it's super easy to do. I closed my BofA account years ago and told them exactly why I did it. They said "oh".
25
@21 for the win

28
@21 - I kind of assumed we would. It hadn't even occurred to me that no one had posted anything about doing that.
29
Slog-ccupy Seattle
30
I for one am relieved people are finally occupying something above and beyond their facebook pages.
31
In reply to 7 (Shaved Bear) go to occupyseattle.org. There are needs for material good (socks, sleeping bags, first aid stuff) as well as donated food. All this is detailed in the "Needs" section of the website. Also, there are working groups to organize and sustain different components of the movement. Each has contact information on the website, depending on your interest, ask to be put on the working group list serve and dive in!!
32
@10: Now they're getting into extortion tactics, lovely.
33
@29 - When and where, Baconcat?
34
@33: Hm, Seattle Coffee Works? It's local and they're at 1st and Pike, so a quick walk. Should be quiet enough to get sorted before walking over as a group
35
@34 - Time? Elevenish?
36
@35: Sounds about right. Meet between 11 and 11:30, walk over at 11:45?

That gives people enough time to mingle, chat, IRL troll and whatnot.

So, what do you say Dominic? Promote Slog-ccupy Seattle?
37
I totally support the cause, but it’s a matter of time before the peaceful protestors become an unruly mob. Mark my words there will be mayhem and destruction in downtown Seattle once the anarchist idiots get their groove on
38
@37 - First anarchist I see acting up gets punched in the face until he's begging the cops to protect him.
39
All I'm sayin is - wouldn't it be more f*ck youish to climax this protest on a weekday, during capitalist business hours? Just sayin.
40
@39 - I thought blocking the bridges into and/or out of Mercer Island would actually get the attention of the 1%, but that'd take far more people than I am.
41
@32, are you referring to @12's suggestion for the 99% window displays? Brilliant piece of slight of hand.

@15, do they really have to do dumb things every time there is a chance for a transcendental event in town? Could anything be done to keep the inevitable march of the vandals from moving up the hill? If it does happen, can there be shame brought down upon these individuals?

I do not want to sit back and say, "I told you so." I would rather my comment be a warning to those peacefully demonstrating to be aware of others who may try to use this gathering for a simple thrill and cause to be reckless.

Also, those covering this event will be able to responsible for how it is broadly remembered. If mayhem ensues in Capital Hill tomorrow, will it be reported on more enthusiastically than a possible gathering of thousands for a righteous cause?

42
Shaved_Bear & Other folks who really can't be there- Occupy is a massively virtual movement! If we can't have our feet on the ground, we can still have our heads in the wires! Online activism is a vital part of it all- Tweet, post, like, share, spread the word! Send food & supplies with others who CAN get down to the physical occupation! (list of things Occupy Seattle still needs here: http://occupyseattle.org/site-page/needs ) Write inspirational poetry. Write fiery rants! Write impassioned notes of gratitude to others involved. MAKE NOISE! As they say- the revolution will not be televised... so it's up to the wireheads to get it out there where everyone can see it!
43
You can show your support here: http://www.avaaz.org/en/the_world_vs_wal…

"Our campaign page will be live at the Occupy Wall Street Square in New York and we will have a massive counter ticking up to show how many people from across the world are joining. Let's make this huge! "

I've already seen video of the Seattle Occupation, and yes, those anarchist IDIOTS are involved. I want to just knock them over and stomp on them. Most of them are trust fund babies, anway, so stomping on them is stomping on an extension of the top 1%...LOL

Check it for photos of October 7th's Occupy Seattle

49
Has march been moved to 5PM?
50

51
