Exactly.

In every CEO's job description is the same thing, except it says "Lie, distort, and pay for attacks on unions that may impact corporate profits."
2
Speaking of stupid fucking crazy opinions, did you ever find time to answer your critics in yesterday's post about the NTSB's recommendation to ban cell phone use and texting while driving?
3
We will DESTROY all your Unions.
4
Because if they weren't stupid, fucking, crazy paranoid morons, they wouldn't be righties?
5
Pam Geller, for those of you who have forgotten, is the one who wants to ban Muslims from flying on planes altogether, because she overheard someone praying once and assumed they were plotting to blow up the plane. She was most recently in the news when it turned out that the Norwegian schoolkid massacre-er was one of her acolytes.
6
Big, deep breath there Goldy.
7
Not all righties are crazy. It's just that the craziest ones get the most media attention. And it's typically the lefties who give them all that attention.
8
your first first post about socialists? no "stupid, fucking, crazy, paranoid, right-wing morons." it's go time time.

"Why Are Righties Such Stupid, Fucking, Crazy, Paranoid Morons?"

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

How about you calling Media Matters those things for correctly naming the ENDING MEDICARE!!! thing the Lie of the Year? Even Mother Jones disagrees with you. You are literally to the left of Mother Jones and then you call others Stupid Fucking Crazy Paranoid Morons. lol
10
When it comes to "stupid, fucking, crazy morons," this guy "Goldy" certainly has the credentials to spot them, being one of them. Ever see "Goldy" in person? With his little video camera, taping it all for who knows what, then shakily asking a question that is usually ignored? He reminds me of that nerd years ago on community-access cable TV, that guy who thought there was a conspiracy to murder Kurt Cobain. Dan Savage, stop the madness and fire this guy!
11
I wonder if the idiots at RedState and Fox News have any idea that they're actually helping SEIU publicize this job opening and attract some highly qualified applicants who might otherwise never know about it?
12
Reality plays no part in their opportunistic diatribe. It's all about whatever they think they can convince the muggles of.
13
"Like wo'kin' 8 houas a day/ five days a week? Thank a Union Guy.
"Like getting holiday pay? Thank a Union Guy."

@11

Highly qualified people don't work for unions to begin with. The whole point of unions is to create and protect jobs that involve as little actual work as possible at insanely inflated wages for otherwise unemployable people.

So, which union do you belong to again?

@12

Really? Was this meant to be an ironic jab at the hysterical Goldstein posting or was the irony unintentional?

I mean, you do realize this job posting explicitly states that part of the applicants job is to break the law and incite others to do so as well. The thing is illegal on its face, for goodness sake.

You're usually wrong, but sincere and reasonable. Christmas rush stressing you out or something?

@Goldstein

Happy Hannakuh or Channakuh or whatever you want to call it you strange and moronic little man.
15
@13

Like collecting a wage? Thank a business owner.

Like paying your mortgage or going on vacation with that wage? Thank a business owner.

Unions are bottom dwelling parasites who in a rational world would be tried and prosecuted for extortion and all the other corruption they practice.
16
Goldy, dude, you are becoming a parody of yourself.
17
This is the dumbest most histrionic piece of crap that Goldy has ever written, and that is saying a lot, since EVERYTHING GOLDY WRITES OR DOES IS TOTAL SHIT.

Goldy is a TOTAL LOSER and a COMPLETE FAILIRE AT LIFE. He couldnt please his wife because he is ugly and impotent.

That's the real reason he is such a fuckup at everything.

Holy shit you suck, Goldy, and you should commit suicide tonight.

Do it. Do the whole world a favor and KILL YOURSELF.
18
@17, dude, you are becoming a parody of yourself too.
19
SEIU Healthcare is a parody of itself as well. If you Google SEIU Healthcare and click on the first hit to their main page you see a line of striking members.
20
SB, unions exist because 'business owners' were fucking douchebags in the 19th century. 16 hour days, 6 days a week, till you dropped dead of black lung. things like that. so, it was unions or socialist revolution. power in amurka chose unions.
21
Happy Hannakuh or Channakuh or whatever you want to call it.

Nice way to dismiss an entire religion, SB. You shouldn't drink and post. Your ugly side surfaces.
22
@20:

The problem is, people like SB don't see anything wrong with the world you describe...
23
Which among our supposedly corrupt agencies and their corporate backers requisition the most billion of treasury? Answer: Highway & Port

Texas heavily pollutes with refining operations. Why add worse crude to the hazard mix. The Pacific & Great Lakes are closer PORT facilities than the Gulf of Mexico.

Washington State Highway Department is making a GIANT mistake with the bored tunnel. Professional concensus against is still strong, adamant, and growing.

Like I said, Highway & Port requisition the most billion of your treasury, yet Washington State highway builders don't have much to show for the money spent. Translation: Wsdot isn't trustworthy.

The DOT agencies & Ports plan to expand globalization. They don't care where the fuel/energy comes from nor its impacts. Fyou Washington State highwaymen, your terrible record, your below-average transit schemes and especially your most idiotic bored tunnel - mere feet below a hundred downtown Seattle buidings as if this isn't EXTREME risk!

Such a horrendous mistake, risk, poorly arranged highway & city street redesign "preferred" by conservative business elite and their also below-par public parkspaces sorta built. Wsdot ain't trustworthy.

And the dbt is an almost malevolently disastrous plan to propose. Inherent risk is extreme & "uncorrectable" once the tunnel is done. Future damage to downtown building foundations is unavoidable. FU people who think the dbt isn't insane...

@16

Penalty called on the play for unsportsman like conduct.

Advocating suicide for anyone based on your disdain is entirely indefensible. In any way. Ever.

Attacking a persons family for your dislike of their political or ideological position is reprehensible. It shows a weak mind and a poor or nonexistent argument.

Got a complaint about Goldsteins many errors of belief, political or economic theory? About his advocacy of criminal behavior rather than democratic process to effect the changes he wants? So do I. So I argue those points, not attack the man.

With the whiny and vulgar ad hominem attacks you sound like Dan Savage, for pitys sake. No sane person would want THAT.
26
@21

Way to jump to conclusions!

I've seen the word anglicised both ways. I don't know which devout, never mind sceptical, Jewish people prefer.

Relax and have some eggnog, buddy. Not everything is an insult.

Though I cop to moronic little man, but then that's an accurate description.
27
@20

Yes, working conditions were different a hundred years ago. Appallingly so.

Maybe unions were needed to address those conditions. Though we could debate whether greedy rich business owners or corrupt and as often as not actually criminal rich labor bosses are better at getting conditions for working men and women better.

We could also argue whether the rational unions that at least knew they needed the companies to be parasitical off of to survive still exist. Airline companies that no longer exist because of irrational pilot union demands, other companies driven to bankruptcy to satisfy the ignorant and arrogant demands of their unions and the general air that an assembly line worker knows as much about high finance as the CEO of Boeing are driving our industry to collapse.

But unions are now no more or less than organized crime. Your 40 hour week and often even health insurance, working conditions, overtime and vacation and holiday time, and all the rest are matters of settled law. The left wing scare tactic that we'll all owe our souls to the company store if unions didn't still conspire to defraud business owners is laughable on its' face.
28
@26

Your jab at how Chanukkah is spelled was clearly an intentional anti-Semitic slur. For you to try to backtrack now only shows that you lack the courage of your hateful convictions.
29
@27

"We could also argue..."

Yes, we very well could, but that would be a very stupid argument. Pass.
30

You think that job description is something, you should take a look at Senior/Lead Internal Organizer, Home Care, Level 2. Demolition experience?
31

they're CREATING jobs!
32
Everytime I hear them call progressives "Marxist" I want to return fire, but "Hitlerist" is not allowed. And then I think...what was it Marx wanted? In a nut shell: worker's rights. So what is the problem again?
33
And here's SB to demonstrate the answer to Goldy's question: Because they are.
34
@27: What do unions do that is criminal? Answer me that.
35
@25-
Got a complaint about Goldsteins many errors of belief, political or economic theory? About his advocacy of criminal behavior rather than democratic process to effect the changes he wants? So do I. So I argue those points, not attack the man.

Well, that was easy.
36
@ 35 FTW.

It's worth noting that SB has gone off the ad hominem deep end many times in the past, has sometimes apologized, but then gone ahead and did it again. Either he's insincere when he apologizes, or he suffers from poor impulse control. Either way, he's too flawed to be any kind of moral authority.
37
@27 Do you visit conservative blogs and pretend to be an liberal atheist just to get people riled up, or do you only come here and pretend to be a conservative Christian? Just wondering.
38
@34

In this case, making a hiring requirement of the willingness to break the law and incite others to do so would do nicely as a jumping off point.

In general if a corporate entity were to engage in the behavior unions do they'd be guilty of violating laws against monopolistic practices.

In further general, they extort money from people who want to work, largely to line their own pockets and to spend on political issues on which the worker may or may not agree. Granted the worker isn't innocent here. They agree to join in a criminal conspiracy in order to make $30 an hour to lean on a sign post and direct traffic into the grill of that enormous Peterbilt bearing down in the opposite direction or sit behind the counter at the DMV or other government office and act with breathtaking rudeness toward any and all taxpayers paying their salaries. Presumably they know they have no saleable skills at all and it's this or going to a trade school or college and getting an actually marketable skill. But you get the point.

With no intent to disparage (since that silly qualifier seems for some reason to be required here) I hope you're having a nice Chanukkah if that spelling is indeed the preferred method.
39
There is no preferred way to transliterate ancient Hebrew words into the Roman alphabet, SB. Just pick one and stick to it, lest your latent anti-semitism reveal itself again.
40
Again Seattleblues you show that you know dick all about what you're talking about.
An example: flight test at Boeing. They are union. Last year at least one of them had to do 1000 ( that's one THOUSAND) hours of overtime and had two consecutive days off in a row once in that entire time. Another member of the team has been hospitalized due to this. If they were not union they wouldn't get time and half for overtime or for working from midnight to noon, or working on holidays or have the medical benefits to keep this schedule from killing them. They would be worked until they dropped.
41
@38 You only have to add that you have no intent to disparage because you spend so much of your time here making disparaging remarks. I give you some credit this time for at least pretending to cite specifics, even if they're specifics based only on hearsay and what you think is true rather than anything based in actual facts.

By the way, Seattleblues, I hope you have a nice holiday. I would wish you a merry Christmas, but, since you're not a Christian, I guess you don't celebrate that holiday.
42
@ 40, that would be perfectly fine with SB. Don't bother trying to appeal to his better nature. He's on record as saying that his employees don't make his business possible. A person who thinks that way doesn't have a better nature.
43
Another Boeing example. There are 19-21 lobby security check points at Boeing Puget Sound. They are part of security. At one point they had the option to unionize. The guards at the gate did and lobby security didn't. All 21 lobbies are now staffed by temps with no benefits, no overtime, and the privilege of a week without pay when Boeing closes down for the holidays. In addition they are paid a third of what the position used to pay when it was staffed by actual Boieng employees. That is why we need unions you despicable toad.
44
@38: Yes, if corporations were to collude for the purposes of keeping wages at a certain level, it would be illegal. Seattleblues, today you learn that corporations are different from people. Make sense? Good, let's move on.
Unions don't extort money from anyone. If a worker doesn't want to join the union, he's not forced to. Dig?
It's very telling that whenever you argue against workers' rights, you paint a picture of incompetent, bumbling fools who don't deserve to keep their jobs, let alone bargain for fair pay. You do realize that unionized workers will still lose their jobs if they are grossly incompetent, right? You realize that it is in the best interests of the union to hold a high standard of quality among their members? You realize that the vast majority of unionized workers are hard-working people just trying to grind out a living without being taken advantage of? Of course you don't; these facts do not suit your opinions.
Finally, the preferred spelling is חֲנֻכָּה.

Please wait...
