I agree.

Maybe he resigned when Obama told him the troops from Afghanistan are coming home this spring?

Is there any end to Obama's appointment of failed bankers, and seriously, Citigroup? If you read the Ron Suskind book, Geitner basically ignored Obama's direction to break up Citigroup, and was calling Pandit after meetings with the White House. It's really got a bad appearance that this 'close' relationship with Citigroup just continues.

Jack Lew ran OMB during the second Clinton term. He did a great job helping the Administration leverage Congress to get things Ds wanted. Granted, they weren't landing huge progressive blows. But unlike Daley, he understands directly and intimately how the game is played with a Republican Congress.

A good hire, probably because POTUS needs someone to run things while he's out of the office travelling the country this year.

And this removes one piece of the "Obama is just a corrupt Chicago pol" ammunition from the R's stockpile. And I suspect it makes Rahm a bit nervous: the quid pro quo of Richard M resigning,Rahm resigning to run for mayor, Bill Daley going into Rahm's old job was some sort of deal, one that now seems to be off. Or maybe it was only supposed to last this long.

Apparently America doesn't have any more smart guys who aren't in the financial services sector.

Six pounds of ecstasy would totally ease the gridlock.

Well, there is at least one left...

Meet Rocky Anderson, presidential candidate for the Justice Party:

"President Obama received more money from Wall Street than any other candidate has ever received in a presidential or any other election campaign. And he surrounded himself with all these alumni from Goldman Sachs."

"Just follow the money, and you’ll see why Congress and the White House are pursuing these policies that are so inimical to the interest of the American people."
