I have crossed everything I can possibly cross... It is incredibly difficlutl to type, actually...
2
@1, it's just like Tom Petty said, the waiting is the hardest part.
3
His arm has got to get tired from swinging that gavel all day.
4
Hnnngggggh! I want a live feed! Even if it is just hours of interminable amendments and procedural mumbling!
5
It's nice that hatfield came around, but we was pretty dicky about it. Sorry for wasting your valuable time with civil rights...
6
Wait...what was that? Substitute SB 6239 for SB 6239?
7
@6 So I did hear that correctly...
8
Anyone else having problems with the live stream?
9
I am, Capt.... getting a server not found error on the livestream.
11
I am. It's driving me crazy that it won't work. Anyone have a suggestion for an alternate live stream?
12
Same here....really pissing me off. Know of anywhere else it's streaming?
13
Fracking live stream doesn't work!!
14
That server can't be found probably because it ran away and hid! Either that or it blew into a million pieces from all the requests for the stream.
15
This feels awesome
16
I hear Baconcat is in the gallery. I'm tempted to just call him and have him hold up his phone. It'd be a better feed than this shit on TVW.
17
Was working just fine and then a fuse blew (i have a space heater running)! Just tried to log back onto the live stream and am getting nothing. I'm guessing their servers are overloaded with too many people trying to watch?
18
live stream works fine for me. what is this crap about judges and commissioners refusing to perform marriages based on religious beliefs?
19
Is it just me, or does the guy who says "...Last line..." sound a bit like Ben Stein saying "...Beuler...Beuler..."?
20
Just spoke with TVW and they are working on fixing the problem.
21
27 nay on Amendment 14!
22
my drinking game for all of this: drink every time you see a (R) with a bad combover
23
Washingtonians with cable should have access to TVW; on Xfinity in Seattle, it is channel 23.
24
gotta love that there's a senator "Pridemore"
25
can a priest currently refuse to marry an interacial couple?
26
@22 - For the love of god, no. Please, call a doctor before this debate goes on too long.
27
@16: I'm not in the gallery! Liessss T_T
28
@25: I believe the law says yes
29
@25 - Yes, actually. The law cannot dictate religious mumbo-jumbo: clergy of any religion are perfectly free to wave their hands and mumble incantations over whoever they chose, or not. That has absolutely no bearing on legal, civil marriage.
30
If Hatfield doesn't want to legislate, he ought to quit his job. Make the bigots pay for their petition gatherers.
31
where are you then, baconcat?
32
@25
A priest can refuse to marry a couple for any reason. Common reasons include one party being divorced, one party being Protestant and refusing to promise to raise the children in the Catholic church, or the couple wanting go be married without first receiving church approved marital instruction.
33
Really sad that the feed is dead.
34
@27 - I have been misinformed! If I called you, though, would you at least make senate sounds so I can feel like I'm there?
35
Mike Padden makes my skin crawl.
36
Feed's working fine across the country!
37
Feed is working fine from California (Oh, the irony)

http://www.tvw.org/index.php?option=com_…
38
HA! Mike Padden just said marriage "is an institution between a man and women."
39
Sadly, the feed is dead for me, too. I'll have to settle for obsessively refreshing this page for new liveblog updates.
40
It's good that I'm across the street from the senate. I'd be calling Don Benton an asshole to his face right now.
41
Hm. Apparently strange white guys get to decide if I can get married.
42
Just tried same link as @37 again and no dice. I think it's random whether you catch an open slot or not.

Watch while you wait: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inSuqXWcq…

Sing along (lyrics): http://www.lyricszoo.com/anthony-newley/…
43
Waiting is hard. We're hoping to be toasting in celebration with you all.
44
TVW needs to work! I'm dying not knowing what's happening!
45
Hatfield's referendum amendment is dead, prepare for swarms of clipboard-bearing a-holes.
46
amendment to make this a referendum did not pass. whew.
47
360725399 is TVW maybe enough bitching will get them to fix the fucking stream?
48
3607253999*
49
ed murray just brought me to tears with his speech. i love my state senator.
50
On pins and needles here in flyover land. Good luck, Washingtonians!
51
I'm loving Sen. Debbie Regala right now.
52
I don't understand why Hatfield did that. What was the motive?
53
SOOOOO mad that I can't see this!!
54
Regala is gonna make me cryyyyyyyy.

@41 Right? I thought the same thing when they were talking about voting on civil rights.
55
@ 52 Lack of guts
56
thank FSM for thestranger liveblogging, am at work and the IE version is too old to stream, sounds like its not working anyway
57
SOOOOO mad that I can't see this!!
58
@52 The referendum amendment? To appease the republicans in his district.

Sen. Ranker is crushing it right now.
59
This shit is unacceptable. My sales taxes pay for that video feed, dammit!
60
Did Hatfield vote against his own ammendment? or is there a 27th out there ??
61
@ 58 - That's what I'd guessed. Thanks.
62
@ 52,

Possibly a decision of a career politician trying to make everyone happy?

Still you have to wonder about the ethics and morality of someone who chooses to put the rights of a minority up for a vote.
63
This is getting really ridiculous, people across the country are able to stream and we can't access the server in Washington?!?!?
64
TVW said that their servers are simply maxed out and they can't add more capacity. If you have a stream going, you're fine but if you get disconnected for any reason, you won't be able to reconnect.

Please LIVEBLOG more frequently! Even if just in the comments. WTF IS HAPPENING?
65
Yes...There are probably thousands of frustrated people out here wishing we could see this...so blog more frequently, please.
66
You voted against marriage equality because of a fear of god? Do we need any more proof that religion is fucked? YOU VOTED AGAINST A BILL IN A SECULAR GOVERNMENT BECAUSE YOU ARE AFRAID OF GOD. How is that not government endorsement of religion?
67
now over at a friend's place and TVW's (the channel, not e site) audio isn't working, damnit.
68
Its on comcast channel 23
69
@ 63, I haven't been able to get the feed going.
70
Somebody needs to start figuring out what building/road/park/bridge/tunnel we're going to put Ed Murray's name on... Fuckin-a, let's put his name on everything like they did Reagan's.
71
Cheryl Pflug (R) coming out in favor of the bill. Yay!
72
TVW is setting up a second server, said it should be up shortly. There "totally maxed out"
73
@ 66 The problem is with the people who are religious, I am sure there are religious people voting yes.
74
Eli, can you fire up the CoverItLive thingy so people who are getting the stream can comment in real time?
75
Bad time to forget my password. Hobbs - the military angle. Crushing it.
77
Wait, what was litzow's joke? I missed it!
78
Steve Hobbs has my support and I'm in the crazy district of Snohomish, Lake Stevens and Machias.
79
Sen. Litzow (R) in favor of the bill
80
When and where can I buy Ed Murray a drink? Surely Capitol Hill residents will organize a celebratory thank you for our state senator!
81
Here's a live feed that works!

http://www.king5.com/live-stream/pop-up-…
82
King 5 has a feed that is working:

http://www.king5.com/live-stream/pop-up-…
83

84
Passionate Jus, You are my new hero.
85
Voting for final passage....
86
Are they voting on it now?
87
@81 YAY-YUH a feed that works.
88
And we WIN!!!
89
PASSED!! BOO YAH!
90
Happy to have a working feed again (and for the outcome), but it'd be nice, too if we could hear how each senator is voting. I assume we'll have an update shortly on those three undecideds?
91
Congrats, Washingtonians!
92
Right on, Washington. Right on!
93
YIPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
94
