Did you hear what happened to the glitter bomber in CO?

The college student accused of "glitter bombing" Mitt Romney after the Colorado caucuses has been fired from his unpaid internship with state Senate Democrats.
Police say 20-year-old Peter Smith threw glitter at Romney as the Republican presidential hopeful greeted supporters in Denver on Tuesday. Smith faces charges of causing a disturbance, throwing a missile and unlawful acts.

Oh no, what will the hippies and drug addicts do if they can't get high in the desert for a good week?
3
"Tom Cruise Is Pissed"

Yeah, pissed that people found out about his little re-education camps.

@2: "hippies and drug addicts" that are (on average) much smarter, better paid, and more productive than yourself, naturally.
4
Tickets, tickets, tickets! What kind of hippies are you? Peter Fonda must be spinning in his grave.

I guess the festival business is more important than the ideals our hippie forefathers refused to go to war and die for.
5
@3, not fair. Everybody's smarter than @2.
6
@5 And likely better paid and more productive as well.
7
@5: Right, I went with the safe assumption.
8
You need to complete the ad with a Dos Equis tag line. "Stay fabulous my friends."
9
OK. Gold star for Justin Beiber.

So, young Americans now need guns when they party? "I'll drink and dance with you, but don't expect to get through the night unharmed." Or is there some hidden subcultural subtext? I've been to parties and nightclubs, but not the kinds where people use guns.

Re: Burning Man - there are only a hundred or so tickets out there on the scalper websites as of yet, and none of those people actually have printed tickets in hand. Many of those are likely placeholders, they've been around since before tickets went on sale. We just don't have evidence of widespread scalping.
12
@2 - probably find some other stretch of desert to go get high in for a week.
13
@3: Smarter and more well-paid than me? Ha! I'll believe it when I see it.
14
@13:
You're looking at it!
16
Is there some reason why a festival in the middle of the desert has limited capacity? Why can't they just sell more tickets?
17
Burning Man was always just an excuse for a party with art, drugs, and music.

Time for a Phoenix Rebirth and a move to somewhere else.

@3 for the Whiners Wanked Win.

@16.. the limits are set by the bureau of land management the government agency designated to oversee environmental impact on that land.. that 'desert' is the remnant of a pleistocene era lake. the sand consists of fossilized marine life, highly alkaline and mostly barren. the government has set the limits on how many people can visit and camp there. this year the cap has been set at 50,000 and probably won't exceed that number in the foreseeable future.

@16 - you'd have to take it up with the BLM, but part of the reason is that there's only one 2-lane road leading to the festival, and the lineup to get in and out just gets way too long with any more people. Exodus line got up to a 9hr wait last year.
22
@5: Funny. Sorry about your penis though.

(not really)

Ladies and Gentlemen, Will in Seattle @17 would like to explain Burning Man to you. He should know; he's been going to them since 1971.
24
Costco Chicken Meme! *snicker*
25
@4, i think you mean dennis hopper, dahling. peter fonda is still alive and kicking.
26
@ 23, I finally broke down and installed that comment blocker add-on, and now I only know what Will is saying when you tell me.

In the mind of many a software developer, Burning Man will be their very first orgy. Can you really put a price on that?

Please wait...
