Rick Santorum knows that this is a _terrible_ mistake: once straight people start doing---and, G-d help us, cherishing---a lot of the same things the gays do, they'll be primed to consider those acts o.k. among the gays and the gays, by extension (heh heh) o.k. as well.
Just as actually knowing a gay person tends to reduce the F.U.D. associated with gayness, doing a lot of the same things as gay people reduces the F.U.D. associated with the acts.
No, Dan, married hets can't blow loads up her nose. A married het woman can suck cock, but if that load doesn't make its way into her vag then there's seed-spilling sin being committed. Unless Pat and the gang are saying that the stuff in Genesis is wrong (Heretics!).
I love the 30+ year old woman squealing in discomfort that (omigod!) she's "too young" to talk about oral sex as if she were a nervous 6th grader at a slumber party. Even Oral Roberts was like, "What the fuck is your problem, you have kids!"
In my younger, confused days when I went to a fundamentalist church, the pastor would routinely cite "the marriage bed is not defiled", and insisted that whatever happened inside a heterosexual marriage was all good. Which, since I was in the process of marrying a Nice Christian Girl seemed pretty good.
Speaking of Oral Roberts, am I the only person who missed his gay, out, cute-as-hell grandson's interview in the Feb. 2012 Details magazine? Randy Roberts Potts seems at peace with his late grandfather (if not with the rest of his family), is getting married, and has a performance piece, "The Gay Agenda," on tour.
This American Life had an amazing report a few years ago about a colleague of Oral Roberts who stopped believing in Hell.
Carlton Pearson's church, Higher Dimensions, was once one of the biggest in the city, drawing crowds of 5,000 people every Sunday. But several years ago, scandal engulfed the reverend. He didn't have an affair. He didn't embezzle lots of money. His sin was something that to a lot of people is far worse: He stopped believing in Hell. http://www.thisamericanlife.org/radio-ar…
One wonders if old age has led to the reevaluation of some old viewpoints. Could it be there is hope for conservatives yet? (It is true the conservatives of today have many of the features of the liberals, even radical liberals, of earlier times.)
What the fuck IS IT with people in our culture who just cannot admit that sex is just fun? It is! It's just FUN! You don't have to be married, you don't have to be straight, you don't have to be missionary posish, (though you should be responsible) - you don't have to BE anything except what is FUN for you? Why is it such a THING that Pat Robertson says ANYTHING to ANYONE about how to do or be in terms of your own personal sexual reality? I've seen this clip a freaking billion other places that last 24 hours and it just blows my mind.
Oral sex is decidedly non-procreative sex and the dude is totally spilling seed, worthlessly, in her mouth. They can't even keep their crazy world-view consistent.
And what's with Robertson's talk about "the question is what's in your heart. If to you it's sin, it's sin." That lets every self-assured, self-respecting gay man off the hook. And confident atheists, for that matter.
"The question is what's in your heart." So moral relativism is okay--but only if you are in a marriage of one man and one woman. If you're single, gay, lesbian, bi or polyamorous, you still have to wrestle with God's law, which is literal, binding, unambiguous, universal, and punishable by death and everlasting hellfire.
But.. but... butt.... the bible expressly prohibits sodomy. If you look up sodomy in the dictionary, it means anything that is not PinV sex. Oral sex is sodomy!
@29 He also did that cheat on alzheimers thing recently too. My theory is that he's saying things are okay as HE is running up against their necessity. Or something like that :-P
@31, possibly as more of his well-heeled parishioners are more forthright about asking for guidance on such things. A generation ago, they might not have brought up oral sex (marital or otherwise), or whether it's acceptable to divorce your dementia-suffering spouse and remarry (or if it's better to stay married but have sex with someone else).
Now folks are asking him, explicitly. He may not want to tell a big donor that Jesus frowns on such shenanigans.

Didn't make my night, either. :(

Oral contraceptive = slut marker.
*married heteros only, please.

Anyway, it's no wonder I eschewed "married het bliss" long ago :-P
And still, ick.
What is in my mind: sex undefined by the bible, Splat Robertson or Trick Sanctimonioustorum.
@26 Aw :) Mutual icks ;)
@17, thanks for that link. I think I heard it when it was first broadcast, but I would love to listen again.
