Okeydokey, this is fabulous news. My view of Michael Pitt projects has always been the more elliptical and lowlife, the better. The source material is perfect, then. And Devor and Mudede certainly specialize in uses of the ellipsis. When Charles namedropped Pitt here last year I crossed my fingers it was a sign something like this might happen.

You are wrong. This is fortunate for Pitt.

Charles Mudede is as brilliant as he is crazy. While it is true that this movie could be a terrible bomb, it is equally possible that it could be fantastic. Whether good or bad, it will undoubtedly be interesting and weird, which has been a hallmark of many of Pitt's past movies. So he'll probably fit right in.

@7, Varietyspeak is a great bit of genuine Americana, and losing it would be a fucking tragedy.

P.S. The Variety article lists Pitt as one of the writers too: "Devor and Pitt co-wrote the script with Barry Gifford ("Lost Highway") and Charles Mudede".

Sounds like an interesting film. Michael Pitt can be really good, but he can also give lazy performances that rely on pursed lips and stoned glares. I hope Mr. Devor can push him to be at his best.

Not a fan of phrase titles, though. I recommend changing it to Hobo Underworld.

The ROW (Rest of World) doesn't give a crap any more about something just because its set in/about/has someone from/makes reference to/was shot in...Seattle.

This is one of my favorite books, it's amazing in all ways. I hope they don't blow it. Pitt is a great choice for Jack Black (the author of the memoir).
