YEAH too bad for all of you who missed this amazing gem of a festival! Not only was most of the work of surprisingly high caliber, but being around the excitement of throngs of passionate, un-jaded young artists is no small thing. The perfect cure for cynicism.
Another name to look out for is Grand Rapids native Caleb Slain, who won Best Documentary for his docu-narrative "It Ain't Over," and swept up 3 other awards for his short "The Lost and Found Shop" at last year's NFFTY.
Bravo to co-founder Jesse Harris for his vision and hard work in making this the world's biggest festival of its kind. And bravo to all the kids who've restored my faith in the future of film.
