1
Can we sell Alaska back to Russia and then maybe no one will pay attention to Bristol "should have been aborted" Palin?
2
Yeah, why bother teaching your kids to be independent, critical thinkers when you can just force your own tired ideas into their heads?
3
That "thousands of years" chestnut is pretty fucking stale, too. Like, really, Bristol, are you invoking ancient Egyptian marriage rites or some shit? Maybe the Duke of Ch'in was really committed to monogamy? Or perhaps she's talking about church-sanctioned rape in the Crusades? That was pretty hetero-friendly.

Sometimes conservative revisionism really gets under my skin. Don't get me wrong, I don't think she knows she's bullshitting here; Bristol Palin has all the wit and creativity of a cinder block. It just wears at my soul living with a political party whose entire platform is a supremely gratuitous example of the Big Lie.
4
Remember, marriage is between a man, a woman, and their meth dealer.
5
People have done and thought a lot of things for thousands of years. That doesn't mean a thing. And who the hell elected Bristol Palin expert on parenting? She's a big mouthed idiot like her mother.
6
Ah, small town teen mom wisdom!
7
So what's her excuse for how she turned out and why isn't her born-out-of-wedlock child living with both parents?
8
Why are we still paying attention to these people?
9
At least some of them are admitting the world has existed for "thousands of years."
10
I'm guessing Bristol starts off a lot of incorrect statements with "we know that".
11
@8 danged if I know.

It's like Survivor, I guess. I keep reflexively watching it, but I just don't care anymore.
12
Every time one of these numbnuts brings up "traditional marriage" I get higher on my soapbox about what "traditional marriage" really is. Ah yes, the good old days when women were property, when the point of a dowery was to provide some value for the bride so she was worth enough to the man she had been promised to in a marriage arranged by their parents.

Yes, please let's talk more about getting "back to traditional marriage."
13
I feel like reading that just made me dumber. Like, a fraction of my brain broke off and is now floating around in the brain pan. At any moment the sliver will imbed itself in a critical functioning area and I will die. Because Bristol Palin is dumb as a stump.
14
@12, traditional Western marriage has always more or less openly allowed for one or more mistresses for men, as long as they try to keep it kinda quiet. Frankly I'm tired of these radical progressive monogamy advocates trying to change the definition of marriage to exclude my God-given right to fuck my secretary.
15
Fnarf I could kiss you
16
@6 Correction: small town teen SINGLE mom wisdom!
17
@1 There is no need to insinuate that everyone in Alaska is as ignorant as Bristol Palin.

She may wise up once she gets some more years on her. I'm sure Monika Lewinski is slightly more level headed than she was at twenty-one. As evidence, I offer the fact that she HASN'T been in the news.
18
We know that in general kids raised by teenaged mothers grow up to be teenaged parents themselves.

We know that in general kids do better when they know that their thoughts matter to their parents.

We know that in general kids that are told that the evidence they experience is less reliable than the ramblings of a woman-hating sociopath with a god complex grow up to be good evangelical Christians.

We know that in general kids do not need to learn any knowledge that is less than thousands of years old.
19
When is it insanity? Are we there yet?
20
"While it’s great to listen to your kids’ ideas, there’s also a time when dads simply need to be dads."

I couldn't agree more. For example, one of those times would be when your teenage daughter moves her boyfriend into your home. But I guess Todd was too busy dealing with his idiotic shrew of a wife to notice what was going on.
21
Ohh, Bristol, sweetie, go back to doinking dudes on camping trips and leave the talking to the adults. Honestly, I just hear banjos playing in the background every time she opens her mouth. Poor, dumb, brainwashed kid.
22
I wonder what Levi Johnston thinks about the importance of raising Tripp in a two parent home?
23
This is what you get from ignorant single teen moms.
24
When Bristol talks about raising her kid in a mother/father home, I just assume she means her mother and father, not the kid's.
25

It's impossible to get any real information about single parent families because over the past 4 decades the autocracy has enslaved both spouses to be workers all the while devaluing their labor and taking away wealth.

Hence the apparatchiks and robots issue false statements because the tax and social structure is based on dual enslavement, dual "income" (read slavery), and sexual monomorphism (same height, same age)
26
@9

That alone drives me nuts. Some maintain that dinosaur fossils are supposed to be a test of the faithful, what then of examples of human civilization, culture, and even religion that predate the supposed age of the universe?

Evidence of bear-veneration and sacrifice tens of thousands of years old in modern-day Switzerland (including a temple); the Catal Huyuk settlement dated to, at the earliest 6000 BCE giving clear signals of religious veneration, incidentally having nothing to do with a hebrew god; etcetera.

I'm surprised no-one else carts out the tenets of gnostic christianity to troll modern-day, American christians--most of all categorizing the god of the bible as the "demiurge" and a weak and wrong god at best, a shattered fraction of a divinity far and away more powerful than itself.
27
The only thing Bristol knows for certain is that Abstinence-Only sex ed doesn't work.
28
isn't she an unmarried, single mother? irony is totally lost on these people.
29
When, oh when, are we going to stop publicizing it every time one of the Wasilla Hillbillies opens their pie-hole and opines on some matter on which they clearly know nothing whatever? Every mouth-fart of the Caribou Barbie clan is not news.
30
We're lucky on the east coast. Bristol Palin's voice no longer carries this far. I'm sorry for you Washingtonians having her relatively close by.
31
The irony is so large it has become invisible. I can totally see her spouting this off on Fox without a hint of irony from anyone.
32
That was way too easy, Dan. Shootin' fish in a barrel, there.
33
Imagine how gratuitously stupid and lacking in basic self-awareness you’d have to be to write that, and then realize that the Palins are even dumber than that. (shudder)
34
You and Terry have a kid, right? He's doing just fine (from what I've heard you say about him). A gay couple I know has twins, I know a lesbian couple with a 17 year old and a 1 year old, all of those kids are great and well adjusted and wouldn't change who their parents are for the world. This "kids need a mother and father" thing is bulshit.
36
"That’s not a reason to change thousands of years of thinking about marriage."

EXACTLY. Who wants some cattle, sheep, and my vagina? Talk to my dad and you guys can sign the paperwork and file them with the DOL. Have fun with that.
37
@17 Thank you.
39
@6 Lets keep in mind she may be a small town teen mom but this is not what all small town teen moms think
I am a single teen mom and I strongly disagree with Bristol.
as others have said the thousand years thinking means nothing. People used to (and some still do) believe that you should pray away the tumors instead of going to a doctor. And she doesnt have a mother father household. Also studies have show gay couples are often older, finacially stable and have two parent households.

And someone needs to tell Bristol Palin to not let god change her mind about stuff
(I assume she is religous)
40
just a pube off the old cunt isn't she?
41
Really, 40? Necessary to sling about the gendered insults?
42
Then there's thousands of years of wisdom on the subject of human slavery. How dare we have gone against that stood-the-test-of-time shit?
43
Thousands of years of one-man, one woman? Wow, Bristol really knows her anthropology enough to make it up!
44
Is the unwed teen mum an expert on child rearing now? President Obama doesn't need advice from any of the Palins.
45
Check the Alaskan anti-Palin blog Immoral Minority :
http://theimmoralminority.blogspot.fr/20…

Bristol Palin is not her blog's writer. She's totally unable of writing such long sentences. She is probably doesn't even read them. It's written by her ghostwriter Nancy French, with probable control from Bristol's mother.

Please remember that as a minor, the real Bristol Palin was publicly paraded in an overpadded grey dress in 2008 to shoot down any inquiries about the real parentage of Trig Palin - "born" from an obviously unpregnant Sarah Palin, and at the time rumored in Alaska to have been born out of Bristol Palin.

The real Bristol Palin was further seen on "Dancing with the stars" where she was the sole contestant ever to gain weight, so much weight that her belly button was noticeably shooting out in her later costumes - and as every woman who's ever been either fat or pregnant knows, belly buttons don't shoot out from fat alone. In my book, her parents allowing her to be seen in public in her second/rumored to be third pregnancy also counts as intentional public humiliation - remember Margaret Chow's remarks at the time that Bristol Palin was pressured to do the show by her mother.

Even though media did turn a blind eye to the pregnancy, no caring parent would agree to jeopardize a teen's reputation for their PR schemes... The result of this recent post on Bristol's pretend blog is that the brand "Bristol Palin" is once again publicly and thoroughly humiliated - but the brand "Sarah Palin" stays blameless. Way to be used...
46
While I suspect it may actually be true that, all else being absolutely equal, children do better with a mother and a father than they do with 2 mothers or 2 fathers, the increment is a small one. Much smaller than, say, the difference between having educated vs relatively uneducated parents, well-off parents vs poor parents, 2 parents vs one parent, and so on.

And we don't go around making blanket statements that poor people shouldn't have kids, high school dropouts shouldn't have kids, and so on. So, yeah, more irrationality from the "Christian" right. (Christians like that give sane Christians like my mother a bad name...)
47
gosh we thought Danny was over his BristolCrush......
48
Dan probably doesn't read the comments here, but every time Bristol Palin (or even Sarah Palin at this point) is quoted, I like to remind the author that repeating her quote is not helping people to stop listening to her... if not for this posting I would have forgot she even existed. Now she's back in my mind's eye and I have a new reason to hate.
49
My favorite SNL line ever comes from Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin: "I've always believed marriage is a sacred institution between two unwilling teenagers."
50
@46, actually not so! Several studies have shown that kids of gay parents turn out just as well as do their peers. The strongest measure is two adults who are either biological *or* legally adoptive parents.
51
@48 I agree with you about Palin fatigue, but... these people must be exposed for what they are (manipulative grifters) in order for them to lose their lethal influence over the not-too-bright-but-heavily-armed citizens of USA. Sowers of hate must be exposed for the hypocrites they are, in order to discredit them to their audience.

Media won't touch the subjects pertaining to them...

There's a book out there, by a Alaskan prostitute named Ms Tripp, who was M. Palin's mistress, describing him as running a prostitution ring in Alaska and using it to blackmail politicians or oil clients. If it's not true, why hasn't he sued her yet ?

Mrs Palin never disclosed Trig's birth certificate, nor did she sue Andrew Sullivan or others for reporting their doubts about her being the biological mother of that child. If she really was, she could have silenced or sued them, why didn't she ?

Bristol Palin was visibly pregnant during DWTS, hid in Arizona for months just after the finale, had every contestant sign NDAs (the only time such measures were taken during DWTS), and yet no baby was produced... But everything her ghostwriter does whenever this issue resurfaces is complain on how media pick on physical appearance.

...And today, out of the blue, her ghostwriter just followed her homophobic post by a DWTS "fat" post ! How coincidental ? To be sure, it feels like they have been reading my post above and have felt unable not to respond to it... I didn't know Wasilla would read and respond !
52
The entire family has ZERO sense of irony! Is it like being colorblind? What causes it? A research opportunity.
53
50

'several'?

wow.......
54
@53: And how many studies have shown a significant difference between homosexual and heterosexual parenting quality?
3-0 is still a perfect record, numbnuts.
55
54

3?

please post them.

cause the 2 that danny keeps dragging out don't say what he claims they do...
56
@55: The two that Dan referenced in this post actually DO back him up, providing preliminary evidence that homosexual and heterosexual couples parent at about the same level.
Bitch.
57
I did say "slightly", and "all else being equal".

Please wait...
