The bumps on this man's head clearly show that he is the most qualified of all the candidates.
2
He should just form his own party, and call it the lunatic party.
3
It's like The Stranger had no real news to cover today. But instead decided to interview homeless people with mental issues about what they would do if elected to office.
4
oh, well, good then.

"Stalin lost"? In what way? He virtually destroyed his country before the Germans even started massing on the frontier, so I suppose he "lost" there, but he achieved a level of power almost never seen at any time in history by any leader. He survived WWII and emerged victorious, living out his days as the head of one of the world's first superpowers. And since he was basically bringing the old Russian Empire back, bigger and badder than ever, he was about as PRO establishment as any figure in world history.

If astrology is real and has the kind of global impact this guy describes, his complete lack of understanding of where the anti-establishment forces manifested in the 30s is enough reason not to vote for him. I'll guess that most voters will find the astrology itself as reason enough.

@3, Robert Canmar was actually very intelligent, succinct, and demonstrated that he had specific policy reasons for challenging Carlyle.

I called him Abe Lincoln's grandpa because he looks like Abe Lincoln's grandpa.
7
I'm not a 36th voter but I would vote for the Abe Lincoln guy. I like the pieces of flair and the blue undershirt adds a flashy bit of color to an otherwise drab outfit. Almost like a ghetto ascot.

Wait a minute, which of those guys is from Pluto? And, I thought Pluto wasn't a planet any more. Did you follow up with them about that Lamestream Media?

Stalin lost in 1930?? By what possible measure did Stalin lose in 1930? He was at the beginning of his tenure at the head of one of the most powerful and influential nations in the history of the world in 1930. He was beginning to consolidate his power and starting to contemplate and execute purges, to say nothing of his many Five Year Plans. He led the nation that destroyed Nazi Germany and presided over that nation's rise from an agricultural backwater to one of the industrial and scientific powerhouses of the 20th century. Did Russia lose? Did the Soviet Union lose? Yes and no. But did Stalin lose? Under no possible interpretation.

Oops, Matt beat me to the punch. Your point, sir.
11
Little-known fact: There are 6 Stalin's on WA voter rolls - but none in the 36th District!
12
Astrology is Taurus-shit
13
Maybe he's just seeing who will vote for anything with an (R) next to it. Personally, I would have liked to see an actual salmon run for office.
14
I think he should represent planets. Planets get no respect. Especially this one.
15
Stalin did lose a lot of friends and colleagues in the 30's, so technically he is right. Of course he did order the NKVD to murder them, but I think think Politifact would rate Klein's statement as "Mostly True".
16
Just to be clear here, Stalin not only killed millions of folks who were political opponents, but also deliberately allowed tens of millions of folks to starve to death. It was so bad in the Ukraine that partisan guerrillas at first welcomed hitler's armies into the Ukraine as liberators. It's a bit weird to hear him described as leader who enjoyed "tenure" when he was a ruthless killer and committed vast genocide, right up there with pol pot, mao, and hitler. He's rotting in hell today. Few in Russia today are celebrating his tenure or his rise or his leadership. In fact, they changed Stalingrad back to Volgagrad right quick. We should be more careful in descriving folks like Stalin.

@16 The opposite of "loser" isn't "good", any more than the converse of "evil" is "winner".

Despite the talking points, very few people on Slog are actually pro-Stalin.
18
Don't forget things like what we did to the native Americans. That was while we had slaves. And don't even get me started on what the Brits have done in Africa and India.
19
Okay, can we come back from the Stalin digression here and return to the subject at hand, that is, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA what a jackass.
20
Not saying I'd enjoy or not enjoy watching it happen but if thems two were to makeout..Abrracadabra! you'd have a full beard!
21
I honestly don't see the difference in what Mr. Klein has to say as opposed to any other republican candidate.

Not to say that every liberal is smart, but I'd rather go w/ stupid than insane. At least there's a solution for stupidity, which is learning. There's not much you can do about insanity.
22
Abrahamacadabra
23
Only on Leslie Klein's planet did Stalin lose in 1930.

Please wait...
