Paul, was it your intention to do a book review SLOG entry on this trip, or is the convention really that much of a snooze? Not passing judgement, just curious.
I just read Gone Girl on Sunday and I really struggled with the first part of the book (kinda boring), greatly liked the second part of the book, and wasn't sure what to make of the third part. Ultimately tho, I didn't really care about any of the characters so it's a book I will forget in three months.
Now the book I read before that, Red Plenty by Francis Spufford is a swell book. It took a subject I superficially knew about (soviet planned economy) and gave it context and a human element. It's a keeper and I think is a book that will be even better on the second read.
Please wait...
and remember to be decent to everyone all of the time.
Kindle + Prime, bro.
