I stopped watching them peddle celebrities of dubious talents. They also obsess on the Bieber guy. And I detest Matt Lauer.
2
Do people really care about the Kardashians? Obviously someone does, since they're still all over the place. I just can't figure out who those people are.

Lauer, Kardashian, Peabrain, Me, Clement, Bieber - We are the Ticket who talks shit, with no apologies. Vote for us!

"Kris Jenner's boob job is still more important to us than showing some respect (even though we profit from 9/11 anniversary shows), but you have a right to your feelings." Hollow doesn't cut it, I read it as "I didn't even give enough of a fuck to spend 10 minutes trying to writing a sincere apology." Next time, they might to throw in some misspelling to drive home the point a little more, "I care so little that I even ignored the spellcheck."

They still do the Today Show?

Is it on MTV now that Jersey Shore is finally over?
6
I'd like to hear apologies from people who watch crap like "The Today Show" in the first place. It's their lack of taste and arrogant ignorance that is being pandered to, after all.

I'm over 9-11 and the Kardashians so I'd like The Stranger to make an apology to me

I wonder how much of the reticence to apologize comes from the fact that the E! Network (home of the K people) is part of NBC Universal.

On an related note, I've never really had any feelings one way or the other toward Ryan Seacrest even though he's been the butt of a lot of jokes. He's been very successful on radio and now on TV (and he's richer than God). But he sure is responsible for a lot of crap TV (that apparently people want to watch - well, at least the people who matter ratings-wise). So, I can't blame him for the very low bar that TV has become. If people weren't watching, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo would pack up and crawl back under the rock from whence it cameth. I just hate to see an industry that once held so much promise - to educate, to enlighten, and to inform and yes, entertain - made into the video version of The National Enquirer.

Every generation has its own choices to make. I wish this one expected more.

Ryan Seacrest shouldn't be doing Olympics coverage unless he has an interest in sports. We don't need another Dick Clark. Honey Boo Boo is on The Learning Channel, and I agree that it and Toddlers and Tiaras are encouraging the behavior that they are teaching us to avoid.

Why the "instead of" language? Did they specifically state that they were eschewing a MOMENT OF SILENCE for some reality TV asshole, or are we breaking down the content of their show, segment by segment, and weighing their arbitrarily determined importance against the arbitrarily determined importance of the Patriot Act Mandated MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR ALL BRAVE HEROES AND VICTIMS OF 9/11 REST IN PEACE BROUGHT TO YOU BY WELLS FARGO?

This is such a non-issue it actually sucks other, actual issues beyond its event horizon and negates them. And yes, I am commenting about it on the internets.

I watched an episode of Honney Lard Ass or whatever that shit is called. And I can say for the first time I watched a show on TV, availble for any age that actually made me nearly puke. Seiously, there was a point in the first episode that I became physically ill to my stomach and had to run to the bathroom. I thought I was going to blow chunks.

And that was on TLC...THE LEARNING CHANNEL!!!

I don't understand why they need to apologize at all. They are a celebrity show, right? I've maybe watched 5 minutes of Today in 15 second increments over the course of my life, and they always have crap gossip celebrity programming. Why are they supposed to get fancy on the 11th birthday of 9/11? Why is everyone outraged over every little thing nowadays?

Please wait...
