Over on Fetlife, people are calling for the "snitch" to be cast out of Fetlife forever, having committed the ultimate sin of having narced on a fellow pervert to the vanilla authorities.
A point another pervert made, which has been ignored as far as I can tell by the media, is that Andraste risked the integrity of the statue by using it as he did. He rigged up ropes, using the hand of a metal statue as the suspension point, to hold a naked woman aloft. Granted, she is a petite woman of Asian descent, but still, the hand of a metal statue is not designed to hold the weight of a human being. This stress did not shear off that part of the statue, but it is quite likely it has been weakened, and it was taking quite a liberty.
Although Andraste feels his art is not being sufficiently respected, he himself showed great disrespect not only for the graves but for someone else's art. (Also, his photos suck; it's not good enough art to justify pissing off survivors or risking breaking a statue).
Man, I live a block away from that cemetary. Clearly I need to reschedule when I lurk amongst the headstones in an ancient Civil War uniform and wail at passerby about having "unfinished business," I am missing the real action.
I understand why people might be offended, but there's no reason to believe any laws were broken. It's legal to be naked in public. It's legal to wear revealing costumes in public. Unless somebody in these photos is stroking something pink, there's no crime here.
@5, I haven't looked (--only 'cause I'm at work --), but I'll bet if you log on to Fetlife.com and search for a profile named Andraste, you'll find something.
Oh, and let me add, that even if somebody in the photos is doing something lewd, it's still not a crime unless they know "that such conduct is likely to cause reasonable affront or alarm." In other words, if there's no one around to be offended by the lewd act, then no crime was committed.
(The fact that someone might get offended by viewing pictures later doesn't cut it, otherwise all porn would be illegal.)
Good point, but only if Washelli posts cemetery visiting hours. Otherwise it's pretty much legally equivalent to walking into 13 Coins at 4:00am and taking kinky pics in the bathroom without being told to leave.
At worst this is trespassing, and maybe they can add indecent exposure. Maybe it's disrespectful and tasteless, but unless they did damage to the cemetery who cares? Is this only in the news because she nude?
@1, I seriously doubt that the weight of the model and the ropes damaged the statue. Because previously that statue held 3 cast bronze helmets, in style of German military helmets.. I'd put even money on the castings outweighing the model and ropes
@1, I seriously doubt the weight of the model and the ropes did any damage whatsoever to the statue.. Seeing as previously, that hand of the statue, held 3 cast bronze helmets of german soldiers.. I'd bet good money the helmets outweighed the model and ropes
