It's good to see the Cooperative getting on with R-74. Us older folks will remember GHC having a long, solid history supporting things like a woman's right to choose (especially when it mattered in WA in the late 80's, early 90's) and universal health care (2000's). I suppose it helps to also have a Board elected by members, and members that believe that we are all better when we're in it together then when we go it alone.

I've been with Group Health for 13 years, and have nothing but good things to say about them. What are some common critiques?

@2: I've heard some people complain that they can't get adequate treatment for chronic, not-easily-pigeon-holed illnesses. but I've always got good health care there.

How does the Roman Catholic Church keep all those hospitals open, anyway? This sounds like a perilous business model if the church were to suddenly stop getting millions of dollars in donations every year.

@4, Catholics tend to have children, and birthing suites are money-makers for hospitals.
