The first thing I now think when I see a headline here about what McKenna has done is that this is another fake post about McKenna.
2
SLOG really did themselves a disservice by that little stunt

I agree with @2. This is such a non-story that was obviously precipitated by Parisien's opponent, an incumbent who has been highly criticized by the bar. I'm also wondering why Eli didn't ask Gregoire's campaign the obvious follow-up questions: Does Gregoire still stand by the substance of the comments published by Parisien? Are the statements by Gregoire still true? If so, isn't it fair that Parisien should be able to use them in the election as a testament to the quality of her past work?

Why does Chris Washington receive uniformly low ratings from King Co Bar Assn? No other judge receives such low ratings in so many categories. Explain.

@ 4
Judge Washington was RATED "Well Qualified" by the King County Bar Association for this current election.

Ms. Parisien was only rated "Qualified" by the King County Bar Association for this current election.

Mr. Sanders, ask about the number of judicial, attorney, and district endorsements that each candidate has received and the amount of money raised by each person.

Ask them why they would even bother to be interviewed when Eli Slanders already knows what he's going to write in advance. Oh, sorry. I shouldn't be mean to someone who *martyred* himself by manning a phone bank. (Maybe you should watch some "It Gets Better" videos.)

#5, the numbers associated with Judge Washington's old boy network of "judges, attorney, and district endorsements" mean nothing, nada, zilch to to the average voter. They only mean Washington is likely well connected. The reality is that most of the folks you cite do not practice before him, and have no first hand knowledge of his judicial qualities. Those that do have first hand knowledge of him are not pleased. See earlier articles in The Stranger about Judge Washington's ratings. On the other hand, the evaluations of the challenger by those who have worked with her including our Governor and our AG are stellar. The fact is Washington narrowly made it into the General Election. Parisien had 47% of the primary vote probably because there is more to her life and her campaign than just lawyers and judges. That ought to be a good thing for us all. After all, there ought to be more to a judicial candidacy than judges, lawyers, and campaign money. Lawyers and judges are not "super voters."

#1, #2 - Rob McKenna does himself a huge service with his constant non-statements, double statements, and take every position under the sun. McKenna's entire existence is one gigantic satire and fake blog entry. The guy who won't endorse the Republican candidate for president. The guy who's secretly for property taxes so long as we the stupid tax payers don't find out about them. The guy who no one, not even his fucking family, knows where he stands on women's rights and marriage equality. The guy who sued against Affordable Care Act before he said he was for it. The entire slate of Republican candidates this year is a joke.

Here's an idea for the Tea Party Republicans: why don't we all just fucking agree that we don't need this bullshit suspense and drama of trying to figure out which McKenna will show up tomorrow. Let's call a truce and just all vote for Democrats all the way. That way, we'll know exactly what we get come 2013.

Sue Parisien has never stated that either Rob McKenna or Chris Gregoire has endorsed her. Indeed, she has been above board and specifically listed who HAS endorsed her. The statements attributed to each of these people were indeed made by each at some point. The fact that some time has passed since they were written doesn't change that fact. No "digging" by those who have sour grapes because they have been bested by Ms. Parisien in court system will change that. Sue has taken down the comment by Chris Gregoire. She shouldn't have had to, but she did.

In the primary, Sue Parisien received nearly 50% of the vote all by herself. The other candidates, including Washington, SHARED the remaining 50%.

The bottom line in all this is that Sue Parisien has a great deal of integrity and ethics. Anyone who works for now, and has worked for in the past, the Washington State Attorney General's office is held to a much higher standard than any other attorney/firm by the general public. Those who question the integrity of Sue Parisien are not speaking from a position of having all the information about this candidate.

Funny... In August, the Stranger endorsed Sue Parisien stating: "His challengers are all capable, but Sue Parisien is the best. She's an advocate for treatment programs and diversion, Governor Gregoire has praised her, and the Municipal League gives her a "very good" rating. So do we. Vote Parisien."

What has changed since then? A systematic, behind the scenes, smear campaign by those who have been bested by Ms. Parien. Sour grapes, to say the very least. Is the Stranger flip flopping like Romney? If the Stranger can be influenced like this, why should we trust ANY of their endorsements?
