Ugh.

I gloves are coming off and the white robes are going on.
3
Vicious and hateful works against your candidate.

Joke tip!

Start with self-deprecating jokes as those tend to not offend anyone!

O wait, that would require some sort of introspection...

Hrmmmmm...

How about this!

Knock! knock!

Who's there?

Interrupting Cow

Interupting Cow Wh-

MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Start small and work your way up.

Thompson père will lose zero votes from this, as the whole red half of Wisconsin -- and bits of the blue half -- possess the same level of racial enlightenment as Thompson fils (and père). Milwaukee's the most segregated metropolitan area in the country. Take away Dane County (and I wish Dane County could take itself away) and it's Arkansas with public radio. Friggin' hole.

Given its past reputation for "progressivism", earned in a bygone era when everyone in the state was white, Wisconsin could serve as a cautionary tale for other predominantly-white, self-satisfiedly "progressive" locales, like, um.
6
Have Repubs ever stopped playing the race card?
7
In retrospect, I should apologize to Arkansas (and amend @5 to read "Eisenhower-administration Arkansas" or similar). I'm certain broad sections of the modern South are far more racially enlightened than eastern Wisconsin.
8
Personally, I thought the smirk meant he was joking.
9
@2 Sorry, Grand Kleagle Robert Byrd is dead or did you forget that most of the KKK were white Democrats?
10
More notable still was that this was an applause line. These mouthbreathers ate it right up.

When a big part of your base is for Romney because they're racists, you can hardly blame Republicans for playing the race card.
11
@6

You mean like adopting a fake urban accent when speaking to a primarily black audience, oh wait, that was Obama in 2007.

You mean like referring to "our people" when speaking about black folks, oh wait, that was Eric Holder in 2011.

I couldn't possibly list all the instances of the Democrats playing the race card. It's a daily occurrence.

When people tell me I'm racist because I have white skin, I stop taking the label seriously.

"I'm sorry sir, your card has been rejected."

@9 - They were until the democrats decided to be on the side of civil rights for all. And instead of embracing that too, the party of Lincoln viewed it as an opportunity to gain votes and power.

Or did you forget that part?

11 - People probably call you a racist because you probably are one. You poor persecuted bigot. Is that better? I know how you righties love to play the victim.

13
Oh @12, I love you.
14
@12 Poor attempt to rewrite history, jackass. Check the voting record for the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Democrats filibustered for 83 hours to prevent it from being passed and, as typical, failed.

Here let me help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Right….

And for your second assertion, that's pure projection. Democrats are the ones needing Big Government to ride in and save them from eeeevil corporations and that scary free market.
15
@14 - I said civil rights, not the civil rights act specifically. The Dixiecrats had issues... and those that stayed in politics either came around to embracing civil rights or became Republicans.

And here's a link for ya:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_st…

When did the conversation turn towards protection of people from the dangers of extreme pursuit of profit through balanced regulation? We were still talking about how you're a whiny, self-victimizing bigot.
16
@14: Are you that fucking stupid that you don't recall what the Dixiecrats were? Were you getting stoned in history class? I'm voting "that fucking stupid".
17
This racist crap by Republicans is just getting old. The only problem is, they keep using their same ole Southern racist strategy every fucking 4 years! Jesus Christ, I get it. You Republicans hate blacks and Hispanics and Asians and everyone else too. But the real tragedy is that the rich Republicans in charge hate poor white people too. So if you are a poor white person who thinks it's ok to look the other way while your party leaders harass brown people and use illegal tactics to keep them from voting, well think again. Cause they are just as happy to use the same tried and true tactics to keep you from exercising your God given American right to vote. Republicans simply cannot be trusted to hold any statewide offices anymore. Sorry Rob McKenna, Kim Wyman, Reagan Dunn. You had your chance to be a different kind of a Republican. But the only kind of Republicans you've proven to be are the Mitt Romney "etch-a-sketch" kind, and the Paul Ryan "let's-make-it-cool-to-make-lives-miserable-for-poor-and-brown-people."

Please wait...
