OMG! you're all going to die!

Remember, get on the Duck, Cover your latte mug, and Hold on to the latte for 30 seconds!

Don't drink it during the earthquake, it will spill all over and mess up your shirt or blouse.

On the twelfth floor of a glass building built long before serious seismic regulations in Seattle, I am being lacerated by imaginary glass.

Ouch.

P.S. Condolences to the families and loved ones of those who died trapped in the Deeply Borrowed Tunnel.

Sorry the power went, the vents failed, and the lack of air resulted in their deaths.

@2 that's why you duck under your thick wooden desk. At least that's what I did. The UPS boxes banged me up a bit, but it could have been worse. Too bad the web server dropped offline.

wgaff?

I'm doing what I'd do in a large-scale disaster: checking blogs first and foremost, then making stupid internet comments about what's going on.
7
@6 - Don't forget to call 911 and the news stations to let them know there was an earthquake.
8
My emergency preparedness plan: Instant death would be a mercy.
9
@2, what a great way to get quick and inexpensive plastic surgery if you happen to want any!
10
@9 - Who needs blood anyway.

Just think of all the jobs created - glaziers and our construction industry will be working gangbusters afterwards!

Earthquakes, mirthcakes. We get tsunami warnings on the coast. Duck, cover, and hold your breath.
13
@10, exactly! Vampires will just drink it anyway!
14
@12 actually I think the Coastal Earthquake Drill goes like this:

Duck! No, Goose!

Cover for 30 seconds

Run up hill like mad, the way all the animals are going.

I have a better idea: practice running as fast as you can out the damn door. Because if you die and I never get to read you again, I'm going to be PISSED. And I'm going to be pissed at YOU for not running fast enough out the damn door.

Please wait...
