(Re: the Mastros) Slog's tag/category "BOOM" was once used un-ironically. I know!
Here's a little story involving the Mastros from early last presidential-election year, before most of the 99% realized what was barreling down the tracks at us (though, as Dominic suggests, the vibrations in the rails were beginning to be felt).
Note: unless the grass was looking greener somewhere else, "renter Jeff Gordon" need not have moved after all.
These factors have lead to the winds decreasing and the southern side of Sandy to be without deep thunderstorms. In short, Sandy is weakening right now and is slowly turning extra-tropical.
@3: sgt_doom, I love ya buddy, but I think you're way off-base about Noam Chomsky. (You're not on drugs with Larry King are you?)
Chomsky has been one of the foremost champions of Occupy Wall Street (have you read his speeches and writings compiled in the Occupy pamphlet?). Hardly a "Wall Street apologist".
Amy Goodman was at Town Hall Seattle last night, I'm very disappointed that I missed her.
You missed the crazy story of Ramtha and her 35,000-year-old anti-gay, anti-Jew, anti-Catholic, anti-Mexican rants, channeled as usual through the totally not-bullshit medium RZ Knight. Knight is on tape saying fun stuff like "the invasion of the Mexicans who breed like rabbits". So, not just a con artist but a loudmouth bigoted con artist.
The problem is, she's donated huge sums ($70,000) to Democrats, who are now having to get rid of the tainted money. They're giving it to R-74.

Who Owns the World? Noam Chomsky on U.S.-Fueled Dangers, from Climate Change to Nuclear Weapons
Again, his message does not sound like that of a "Wall Street lackey" to me.
