Do we get to know anything more about them than just the titles? ie: gay, straight, vanilla, kinky, oral, anal, spanking, sharp metal objects and/or hooks, puppets, nuns, bums, clowns, which ones I'll need to close my eyes for, etc etc etc.
Can't wait!

RUMPY PUMPY: short cartoon animation of colored dicks and pussys. short and simple. good for the open, but really nothing. 5/10

HOT N' SAUCY PIZZA BOY: just 2 guys fucking on a couch. no really dialogue, no interesting shots. they try to have something happen by showing its the pizza guy, but they dont do anything with it. 2/10

WHEN YOU WANK UPON A STAR: this one tried to tell a story. nerd watches his fav porn, and the pornstars come to life. this vid fails though, as soon as they come to life nothing happens, and the girl leaves and the guys sit and talk. they tried, but the video just doenst go anywhere. 5/10

BEYONDEEP: 2 girls run through the forest as crap music plays for about 1 minute. then they fuck in a dark van. the light is terrible, and the shots aren't even focused or in the shot correctly. no ending, no really angles of the sex. 2/10

D&D ORGY: another vid that has an idea, but does nothing with it. we get about a minute of people sitting around rolling dice while saying stupid pus about fantasy and d&d, then a few minutes of what i guess is suppose to be sex. there is some slight nudity, but mostly everyone just rolling all over each other. and thats it, no ending, nothing happens. 3/10

MAGIC LOVE: best vid by far!!! cool stop animation using real people. has a great beginning middle and end, every shot is well though out, sound actually fits, right amount of nudity, sex and funny. really really good. all vids should have been around this level of quality. 10/10

(cant remember title, not on list): 2 gay guys that are mechanics. the audio is all broken and doesn't fit at all. they wipe grease and use the tools on each other, go out side and fuck around some more. they tried to be different, but it just wasnt very good, and like most of the vids is just not thought out very well on where is this even going? 3/10

MANSMASH: these guys really tried, but i feel they feel short. is basically just a music video. takes place in some tourture basement where a guy gets abused by some ugly lady. the problem is for every neat thing they show that last a few seconds, there is about 10 seconds worth of just showing the ugly girls face and finger nails. seriously there is about a minute of footage total of just her fingernails. they could have done so much more. 5/10

PRODUCE: 2 fat old lesbians buy vegetables at the store for about 20 seconds. then 3 minutes of them putting the veges in their holes, then a minute of them cutting them up for making dinner. yes that is all that happened and it made it in. 2/10

PIE SLUTS: girls and guys smacking whip cream filled pie tins at each other. while some hip looking chick tells them to do it. thats it. also the lines she is suppose to say she screws up and they didnt edit it out. 1/10

THE PERFECT STRANGER: dont remember for sure, but i know one is a video about a girl wanting prince. she gets a package that comes to life, and a cardboard cut out of prince with a dick. there is a bunch of sex, and just weird stuff happens. i originally didnt really like this one, but they really did try to be different. like some of the others, i just felt they could have pushed for so much more, but it was at least different and creative, but just a little dull after that. 6/10

VOYEUR: guy walks in on his girl having awkward lesbian sex. just watches. they continue to have awkward sex that has absolutely no passion to it. ends with them realizing hes there, and she smiles. 2/10

DUELING DAMES: another one i liked. they try to be all old timey with the sepia tone. 2 chicks are bored and want to fuck, they decided to have a competition. they have the dueling banjos music as they try to out fuck each other. clever idea well executed. every thing works in this one, but they could have done a little more to really push it to be great. 8/10

KRUTCH: i didnt understand this at all. its just a girl with a limp that has a crutch walk around the city. and we see her masturbate on her bed. not sure if they are trying to say she is different or the same as some one with out a crutch. either way nothing happens and there is no message to be had. 3/10

GO AHEAD, PEE!: possible worst of the night. girl gets on a trampoline in a body suit and pees herself for 2 minute or so. that is it. I AM COMPLETELY SERIOUS, THAT IS ALL THAT HAPPENS. 1/10

BOYS FIRST HOOK UP: 2 guys fucking on a bed. one guy is super rough with the other. the twist at the end is they are married or somthing. 2/10

DINNER PARTY: another food one. just people using food as sex toys and then eating them. this one did do some things i hadnt really seen before so that was good, but still its a one shot idea that goes nowhere. 4/10

TOEING THE LINE: its 2 gay guys just making out at different locations that support republican agendas. and jack off on there couch to republicans on tv. get it? republicans dont like gays! isnt that genius???? the vid half way through has a dance number performed about 8 people, ant that had to takes some work and planing, but the first half is just the laziest form of creativity. 4/10

DIRTY MIND: dont remember

EDENXX: just a compilation of some couples dirty videos. some really good sex, but really this didnt have a focus or any idea, just a couple having a good time. for what it was it worked, but for a film competition it is not even close to be good enough, you have to actually try! 5/10

BEST SLUMBER PARTY EVER: this one fails so hard. the whole idea is a nasty lesbian slumber party, and even they cant do that right. the first half is just a bunch of girls saying terrible dialogue, and we get about 45 seconds of them all just sucking on lolly pops, i really didnt understand why it went on that long, anyways the at the slumber party they is some brief nudity and everyone rolling around on each other. thats it, goes nowhere again. 3/10

D4U: A STORY WITH A HAPPY ENDING: dont remember for sure, but i think this is the one where a girl and guy meet, and it shows them fuck like at 3 different locations. its stylized ok, but again not really anything happens. for what it is it was done right, but that diesnt make it any less boring. 5/10

PETER AND THE WOLF: another 2 guys fucking, but they tried to give it something diffrent by having one of the guys be a werewolf. at least is wasnt just them on a couch, but they could have gone so much further. 4/10

ALICE AND MILES: dont remember for sure, but i think its just a couple fucking on a chair. thats it. no good shots of the sex, and the girl didnt even look like she wanted to be there. 2/10

THE BEAT: just a guy jacking it on his bed. the twist is he is religious and it shows him with a bible at the end. again thats all that happens. 1/10

MILKING HONEYS: gay cowboys. random shots of a girl in a bath tub, random shots of lanterns and baileys of hay. the audio has nothing to do with what you see, and you dont see any sex, just simulation. tries to be really artsy and fails so hard. i predict this one wins some category hahahaha. 3/10

BOYFRIEND: last vid of the night, it starts with a drag queen spitting out terrible dialogue on its bed on the phone. i left, i had enough.

No mention of "Tuff Titties" (help with the full title) about the two mechanics? I thought it was one of the best of the fest. If not for best kink, I thought the sex (was it shown or just implied?) was some of the sweetest and most sincere on the screen.

@2 obviously misses the point of an amateur porn festival. If you expect your porn to "go somewhere" or "have a message," either make your own or don't go. Next time leave your film snob hat at home and you might actually have a good time.

I am a film snob, but I liked Hump!2012 alot just the same...

RUMPY PUMPY- Excellent little dirty cartoon with Thus Spoke Zarathustra music. Great way to start.

HOT N' SAUCY PIZZA BOY- Lo-fi home made porn based on porn we've seen before. Cute boys, but goes on too long.

WHEN YOU WANK UPON A STAR- The only real "narrative" porn of the night. What if porn characters came to life? All expectations would be denied. (Which is actually kinda hot, right?) Lots of funny lines.

BEYONDEEP- 2 hot women fuck in a van in the woods. Didn't get it, but liked the way it looked.

D&D ORGY- Gamers have an orgy. Some funny lines, but I think this one relied too much on if you're "in the know" about gaming.

MAGIC LOVE- Super cute animation with real actors porn movie. The cum shot is hilarious.

MANSMASH- Whoa. This is a visual-aural onslaught of sadistic imagery between a garish Momma character and Baby, her male submissive. Although most of the actual s/m stuff was faked it was still pretty cringe worthy. Reminded me of Herschel Gordon Lewis. Loved it.

PRODUCE- The lesbians buy vegetables and fuck with them. Funny, a little too long.

PIE SLUTS- Definitely the most perverse. Sploshing with a very mean looking domme and her rubenseque pie sluts. Funny and hot.

THE PERFECT STRANGER- The 80's one where she fucks Prince. Kinda. This one was great, but you have to really think about it to get it. The experience of being in your room and listening to music is very similar to masturbation and how we learn about the world and ourselves as young people.

VOYEUR- Guy watches a lesbian top someone who MIGHT be his girlfriend, and it MIGHT be all part of the plan? Very well done, with actor-looking actors, but slightly bland.

DUELING DAMES- Funny silent movie porn. The fuck off has a nice build.

KRUTCH- Intense character study about a woman in NYC with a bum leg who uses a crutch to get around. Maybe a little too long, but some VERY powerful moments and very intense sexual stuff. This is the kind of movie Hump! was made for. Also no dialog, which was really nice.

GO AHEAD, PEE!- Woman pees while jumping on her trampoline. It feels good. Do it!

BOYS FIRST HOOK UP- Rough and dirty gay sex. Alternately funny and hot and a little scary. Twist ending is a little hard to buy because of the production value, but still humorous.

DINNER PARTY- Some tattooed poly-family has a food-sex party where the food eaten was used in the sex. I have to say this one was kinda icky, but that's just because I don't dig on eating products of my own body. I guess this hypocritical since I drink milk. Either way I didn't really like this one, unfortunately and felt it was a bit too long.

TOEING THE LINE- Original song music video with cute boys kissing. I got it, but I didn't really get it. Just showing political stuff on screen doesn't make it political.

EDENXXX- Real home video from two dirty kids. Good for being so honest and real. Maybe a little too long.

BEST SLUMBER PARTY EVER- Hot lesbian sleepover. Funny cast. Would like to see more, actually. Felt too short.

D4U: A STORY WITH A HAPPY ENDING- A little too conventional hetero/vanilla, but I guess it takes all types. Not bad, but not great.

PETER AND THE WOLF- A little too long. This is the gay werewolf one. Hot actors. Confusing story, unfortunately, but it looked great and the music was good.

ALICE AND MILES- Kind of like a car commercial. Super slick production value porn that didn't really real or worth it. Should have titled it Zombie Sex and maybe I would have liked it. No context, no story, conventional music. Not a fave, unfortunately.

THE BEAT- Kind of a sex toy commercial. Cute guy though.

MILKING HONEYS- Artsy attempt, but kind of fails, because it's not quite clear what it's trying to be artsy about. Interesting gender discussion and some interesting shots, and a great soundtrack.

BOYFRIEND Superstar drag queen music video crowd pleaser. Lots of laughs. Lots of movie references, lots of cock. It's a crowd pleaser for a reason, I really loved it.

I was disappointed that some films gave us websites to check out, but they were not on screen long enough to write down. Nor was there info given out afterwards.

What was the song used in Magic Love?

Why I Can’t Recommend the 2012 HUMP! Film Festival

I left the HUMP! Film Festival last weekend feeling disappointed and angry. I should have left feeling amused and impressed.

Here’s what HUMP! included with great success:
• Bodies of all shapes and sizes
• Bodies of all colors
• Bodies of all/no “genders”
• Sex of all kinds and kinks
• Creativity
• Pleasure
• Queerness
• All different types of real, authentic people
• Safe and safer sex (including masturbation/self-sex, condoms, and dental dams)
• A sense of humor, playfulness, and fun
• Explicit and implicit critiques of homophobia, transphobia, sexism, heterocentrism, racism, ableism, ageism, slut-shaming, body-shaming, and other hateful, harmful social biases and oppressions.

Great job, HUMP!

Now, here’s what you did very wrong, and the reason I cannot recommend you to anyone. This is a BIG problem and, in my opinion, it undoes all that good work you would have been doing without it.

You forgot consent.

HUMP! includes films in which not only is consent not made explicit, non-consent is. There’s a word for that. It’s R-A-P-E. It’s prevalent in our society. It’s prevalent in our region. It’s safe to guess that someone was raped in Seattle during each of HUMP!’s performances, and a sizeable portion of each audience was made up of survivors. What’s more, rape and sexual abuse survivors are disproportionately found in the very communities which HUMP! appeared to be trying so hard to include and affirm, such as transgender folks. Consent matters. Rape is never okay! NEVER.

What should have HUMP! done differently?

It should have been clear about consent!

Ideally, HUMP! would have refused all film submissions that included scenes where consent is problematic. “Boy’s First Hook Up” should not have been chosen for the festival. Period. The film begins incredibly well – a person clearly and verbally communicates with their partner which sex acts they want to perform – and then commences, when the meet-up happens, to turn into a violent rape with a masked perpetrator. At the end of the film, we see the actor speaking to the rapist about day care. Oh, haha, they were partners all along. Not funny, HUMP! I was almost physically ill during this film, and could not look at the screen. It has incredible triggering potential and makes a gotcha joke out of our fears that a person is being raped on-screen. The fact that this person is engaging in what appears to be man and man sex is even more problematic, as homophobia includes the belief that gay sex is definitionally exploitative and wrong. Bad in so many ways.

Another film that should not have been part of the festival is “Mansmash,” which to my observation is a torture film. Torture is real. It’s not sexy. It’s not funny.

Now I’m sure some readers are thinking “so what about rape or torture fantasies, which are part of some people’s sex lives?” If HUMP! made the (highly questionable) decision to include such violent fantasies, they should have clearly been framed as fantasies among consenting parties, and the audience should have been warned clearly before the show started and before buying tickets that there would be scenes that were likely to be triggering for survivors, their friends and families, and allies/advocates.

HUMP! has consistently been marketed as fun, kinky amateur porn. Although there are no guarantees as to what exactly will happen in the films, the organizers have a responsibility when it comes to sending messages that appear to condone and affirm sexual violence. Sexual violence is not kink. It’s a harmful reality that ruins lives. Just as the message should be “don’t rape” as opposed to “don’t get raped,” HUMP!’s message should not be “enter at your own risk; sorry if you have a panic attack and end up in the ER.” It should be “we oppose all sexual violence, recognize its prevalence, and refuse to condone it in any way. We want to take care of survivors.”

A significant portion of Dan Savage’s pre-show remarks dealt with buying shots. That’s nice and all, but how about using even two minutes of that time to warn folks in the audience that there would be triggering scenes? And that HUMP! unequivocally opposes all forms of sexual violence? Dan warned us there would be no poop. OK, good to know. How about a reminder that there would be NO non-consensual sex (read: RAPE) in the films? That needed to happen, and it didn’t.

I left HUMP! feeling physically sickened by the rape-like and torture images in the films. I left HUMP! disappointed that the film’s organizers had not looked out for the audience by considering consent and survivors, especially when they had done such a good job being inclusive of other oft-marginalized communities. I left HUMP! angry as hell that rape culture is so incredibly, painfully prevalent in our society, even in otherwise sex-positive and person-positive film festivals.

Please, HUMP! organizers, make a strong and vocal commitment to ending sexual violence. Don’t be part of the problem by ignoring the needs and safety of survivors.

Hump!2012 was so awful. Weak. I think a lot of people put a lot of effort into making some good films, and some great ones, it's dissapointing that they'd select this lineup. Where was the SEX!? This film festival seems to more about hipsters being "clever" than making good, real, and erotic movies. Maybe Seattle needs a REAL amatuer porn festival, I myself won't be returning. Goodbye Hump!, have fun jumping around in a unitard and pissing on yourselves.
10
Wow, what a disappointment this year. Seems like they've screened out anything remotely sexy in favor of what passes for "clever". I think there were probably a lot of excellent submissions, there is NO WAY that what was screened could be the best of the entries... Torture isn't sexy. Neither is rape. Neither is pissing yourself in clothing. Left feeling ripped off and slightly nauseated. C'mon Savage, we wanted a SEX film festival, this is just a steaming pile of bad lighting and worse ideas. Seattle needs a REAL amatuer sex-film fest, not this.
11
I am so surprised to see all the negativity. I thought Hump was GREAT. I look forward to next year!

Please wait...
