It's that smug, arrogant smirk. It's irritating as hell. He always looks like he's pulled the wool over your eyes and loves doing it.

"I almost feel bad for the Romney campaign: The one thing they really need right now, their candidate simply can't deliver."

Meanwhile, they've spent their whole campaign refusing to deliver anything.
Tax returns.
Policy specifics.
Specific loopholes to be closed.
And so forth.
Why? Because they already gave "you people" enough.
Anything more would just be giving "ammunition" to their political opponents.

Romney chose to run as the "I'm not Obama" candidate and nothing else.

The republican ticket is just coasting now.

My guess is the next time we'll hear anything more than a few sentences from Romney is election night. After that, we'll either hear from him a ton over the next four years or he'll completely disappear.

It's too late to change the narrative (short of a truly spectacular - in the bad way - event). Mitt will go down in history as the half-assed candidate we've seen all year. "I'm not the other guy" continues to be a loser's strategy.
5
Fox news is darkening Bloomberg's skin tone as we speak. From Jew to swarthy Turk by 5pm, Kenyan by morning.

@ 3, all the support and unity he's getting from the GOP is simply a matter of hate for Obama, not love for Romney. Remember, he's the guy who just couldn't close out the opposition from Rick frigging Santorum, and who had more challengers take over 2nd place than any major candidate has in the TV era. It's because hardcore conservatives don't like him.

If they're so willing to have George W. Bush (the recent two term president) disappear, Romney will be a nonperson among Republicans by Thanksgiving.
7
@5 or maybe they'll magenta him up to Boehner and then full Oompa-Loompa.
8
@3, We'll hear from them tomorrow when the job report comes out.

Mitt Romney is this decade's Al Gore. A shitty candidate who was incapable of conveying any sense of leadership or humanity. And this will be a close vote, but his opponent will win, and his supporters will howl about it for a decade.
10
If Romney loses, it will be terrible for those around him; he will be an angry crumpled puppet. Even Nixon had the core to become somewhat of an Elder Statesman but Romney has no core. If he wins, it will be terrible for the country because Rove will be in charge again.

@9 Gore was a fine, if boring, candidate facing a hostile media. He was Cassandra and the country preferred Eddie Haskell. Gore's supporters were right to howl as their disenfranchisement before (voter purges), during (disparate voting methods) and after (court decisions) the 2000 election has been well documented.

Romney is nothing like Gore and if he loses his cries of voter fraud will be pure fantasy.

Bloomberg is a likely pick for Secretary of Commerce or even State if Clinton resigns.
13
@12 I can't see Bloomberg as Sec of State. Commerce, yes, but State, no.
14
Also, please don't feel even almost sorry for Romney. He's the most disgraceful person to ever be a presidential candidate since I've been old enough to pay attention, ie, since around 1980.
15
C'mon @2, they're delivering canned goods, aren't they?
16
@ 14 he's the most disgraceful person to ever be a presidential candidate since i've been old enough to pay attention, ie, since around 1960.
17
@16 worse than Nixon? Wallace? Nah.

Please wait...
