I know it's owned by Rupert Murdoch but don't they care about the people who read the thing? They probably should have sat out the endorsement game.

I subscribed, albeit briefly. Yet The Daily served its purpose - to draw more newspapers and their readers to the tablet format. As a serious reporting enterprise, and especially from an editorial perspective, it lacked any substance. It was chewing gum journalism; once the flavor went, you spat it out.

@1:

Presumes facts not in evidence.

If there is one thing Rupert Murdoch believes in, it's bipartisanship. Ugh, it's just such an insanely ludicrous argument; that typing out a sentence, or saying out loud that Romney should be elected in order to foster cooperation; should be immediately followed by a bolt from the blue to reduce the person who makes this statement to dust.

The lack of leadership foresight during Sandy is appalling.

Evacuation orders were given, but it now seems many had no idea where to go, or else did not have the means and wherewithal to flee.

The national Government under Obama failed to make preparations for advising, transporting and sheltering the thousands who now starve and freeze!

@5, yes, yes, Bailo, and I know how that comment is related to this post: what we need in this country is a more Bush-like president again! Let us never forget how it was during Katrina and how it could be again! Brownie did a heckuva job and he should be reinstated immediately under our next president Romney. It all makes perfect sense!

(The only thing I'm not quite sure about is when you became such a "big government" type...)

@5: 2/10 - Delusional.

Being Commander in Chief is not "big government"...it is one of the true Constitutionally mandated roles of President.

In the case of Katrina, Bush was asked by the Democrat Nagin and the Democrat Blanco to stand down.

In this case, Sandy, all Governments asked for the type of help that only the Army could provide in advance.

I feel like this post is a bit misleading, the people in it are not Republicans, at least not all, and given that Jay Kaufman is one of the 5 most liberal members of the MA state Leg, I doubt any of them are, but I'm too lazy to check.

Still, no doubt he was a bad governor.

@5 I recall you were dismissing Sandy, citing 'sources' to prove that it wasn't going to have much of an impact. Now you're here wagging your finger at Obama for... what? Agreeing with you?

You care nothing for facts. You don't care about people. The only thing that matters for you is playing 'gotcha.' People like you are why the Republicans are bankrupt of ideas, bankrupt of morals, bankrupt of decency, bankrupt of compassion, bankrupt of anything beyond the childish entitled demands of your own personal satisfaction. Maybe you're not a psychopath, but you think psychopaths should run things.

Who insists on including another painting in the background of their portrait? It makes for a mirror-facing-another-mirror sort of look, and what idiot can't foresee that?

@10: Yeah, he was. But good luck getting him to admit he made a mistake. He's also dismissed FEMA as being anything of use in an emergency, while at the same time blaming the victims for not leaving their homes.

Vague recollections from a mind hampered by extreme drug use...not a very credible witness.

Please wait...
