Please, please tell me they spelled it "Sabot". Honor the Sabot and keep it holy.
2
@1 "Sabbeth"
3
Job creators. Somebody's gotta fix it.
4
I like to fire people... who can't even do their invasive state-endorsed religion correctly.
5
Well I'm sure they're telling themselves that spelling doesn't count because God's Word shines through. Isn't that the excuse Christians give for conflicting, ambiguous translations?

Idiocracy in Oklahoma. Spend less money on basketball arenas and more on literacy and maybe you'll get the unconstitutional dogmatic monuments right.

6
And why was a religious monument put on the state capitol grounds??
7
Better a misspelled word than something important. Like, say, giant underground vaults full of drinking water. Vaults that weren't designed to the correct standards.

Boy, them Okies sure is stoopid, eh?

8
6

yeah.

next thing you know they'll be l;tting homos erect chapels in city hall.....
9
@7 We excel at retro-fitting.
10
Ha ha ha! Another proud display from the class morons!
11
@6: Oklahoma City is into that kind of bullshit. The State Capitol building was famous for being the only one without a dome. A decision was made some time in the 90's to build one and it is garish as all get-out. The interior is basically Oklahoma's creation myth and settlement, with Jesus peering out from behind rocks in every scene (I'm exaggerating, but he's definitely a key player). Also, all of the project's corporate donors (Walmart, Hobby Lobby, etc.) were inscribed in the base of the dome, so when legislators come to work, they're reminded who holds the purse-strings.
12
@11: Sorry . . . I should clarify the interior is covered with murals.
13
Where does Remember to checketh your blood sugar rank on the Commandments?
14
Eh, they don't remember what day of the week it is either.
15
@9: More job-creatin'!!
16
14

they traded up.
17
I bet someone's gonna take a bath on this mess up!

amirite?!?

Is this thing on?

*I got nuthin*
18
Sorry, I'm still stuck in Thorsday.

Is it Fishday already?
19
Well, since they don't actually follow the Ten Commandments, (How priceless is it that they created a graven image that commands not to create graven images?) why bother getting the spelling correct? Maybe God will send some divine magical spell checking to auto-correct it.
20
Ritze said that the monument company is aware of the typo and that it will be easy to fix.

I'm actually curious, how?
21
@20, I don't know for sure, but the basic shapes of "e" and "a" are similar in that blackletter/medieval typeface. They can probably fill in improperly engraved areas with some kind of rockdust/resin mixture, polish it smooth, and then re-engrave the letter and re-do whatever kind of pigment or oxidation they use to emphasize the contrast between the letters and the natural stone color.

They still find and repair spelling mistakes in the Vietnam Memorial, and didn't they have to re-engrave a whole section of the MLK memorial in DC?
22
Black Sabbeth Rulez!
23
The jokes about stupidity and religion just write themselves, don't they?
24
Does it include the Eleventh Commandment, 'Grow a brain moran,'?

Please wait...
