Yes, thanks! And thanks to you Dan, for your columns & It Gets Better website. So much work has been done in the last few years to get voters to got FOR equal rights, instead of the easy, reactionary vote! WA state is rightly proud this Thanksgiving

*sigh*
I wish it would come up again here in Colorado so I could vote for Marriage equality. I think it might have a better chance this time round.

It's been a hell of a year! Thanks to all who made it possible. My faith in the goodness of America is restored.
4
You're welcome, Dan! I'm thankful for having had enough time to devote energy to the struggle.

Today, I am thankful for Karma, who has been "outing" so many anti-gay bigots! Happy Thanksgiving, Karma!

From The Huffington Post on 11/20/12:
"A New Hampshire lawyer associated with an anti-gay Christian defense group was arrested on federal child pornography charges after allegedly taking a teenager to Canada where she reportedly convinced the girl to engage in sexual activity and let it be filmed.
Lisa Biron, a Manchester, N.H., lawyer associated with the Christian litigation group, Alliance Defending Freedom, was arrested by FBI agents on Friday morning on charges of transportation with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, possession of child pornography and five counts of sexual exploitation of children, according to the Concord Monitor."

I am just so thankful to be alive in these days to see the tide turning, awareness increasing, and people realizing that CIVIL RIGHTS are, in fact, CIVIL RIGHTS. Period.

I mean, I knew we'd get here eventually... I'm just so thankful to see it with my own eyes...

Happy Holidays, everyone!

Y'all are most welcome ... and to those of you who are actually able now to get married on the 9th ... Congratulations!

Thanks Dan - always glad to share the legal love whenever possible. Hope it grows like all great love should.

we are so grateful for that pioneer of Liberal Lifestyle Murphy Brown.

Taking an important first skip on our path to Gommorah.

Showing women (and their children) that single motherhood is a super hip frolic.

Now, half of all kids born in America share Avery's daddy-free life of bliss.

(up from just 10% in 1965. WE'RE WINNING!)

so, Murphy; our hat's are off to you.....

No doubt 20 years from now we will see that homosexual "marriage" will have had a similar effect on the society that single motherhood has.

(we're sooooo excited!.....)

@11

Don't be a dumbass.

Allow me to read to you from my book:

"Children living with single mothers are five times more likely to be poor than children in two-parent households. Children in single-parent homes are also more likely to drop out of school and become teen parents, even when income is factored out. And children who live with their biological mother and father do better than those who live in stepfamilies or with cohabiting partners…. In light of these facts, policies that strengthen marriage for those who choose it and that discourage births outside of marriage are sensible goals to pursue."

Again, don't be a DUMBASS......

@12

Danny, did you know that children raised by their real parents do better than children raised by homosexuals; even if one of the homos is the child's biological parent?

you should do a podcast about that........

You're welcome! We should also thank the Times for their "I Do" campaign: http://seattletimes.com/html/edcetera/20…

yes, and maybe one day white liberals across america will actually do something to get equal voting rights for the 6.5 million people in the usa who don't have them by law!

one of these centuries. Surely. Any day now.
16
@12: Well, golly, that explains why the Christian right is working so hard to ban single motherhood and fighting to make it illegal for straight married couples with kids to divorce. It all makes sense now.
18
I was pretty sure we would win here, but victories in 4 states? I'm still bouncing off the walls from that. We can't stop until all 50 states have equality.
21
If only people with Republican values were allowed to raise children there wouldn't be any out of wedlock births! Republicans would never glamorize such a thing like celebrities do!

Be thankful for yourself then, Dan. It's reading blogs like yours that made me realise that I had to go from quietly agreeing with you on the sidelines to actively campaigning for marriage equality.

I'm thankful for all our allies and their realizations that what people like our troll here spew is asinine.

Please wait...
