Here's an interesting hockey story to tide you over. An African-American minor league hockey player could very well be the first pick in the next NHL draft.

@ 1, thanks for sharing that.

This lockout is completely senseless. The owners could write the manual on How To Destroy A Business Without Even Trying.
4
They're getting a federal mediator maybe!
5
They need a mediator. This is ridiculous. I blame the owners.
6
Good thing we don't have our team yet, or it would be even more frustrating.
7
join the former Sonics fans in writing off a major professional sport. life goes on without it.

Not sure if you've seen this, but it's pretty funny.

If that doesn't work, it's the first result for "call the union."

I am a huge sports fan who loved the Sonics, but the NBA and NHL are totally unattractive sports leagues right now. Why Seattle's getting all excited about attracting franchises from both these mismanaged leagues is beyond me. When David Stern and Gary Bettman hit the road, let's talk.
10
@9 David Stern is retiring soon and one of the last things he wants to do as commissioner is to bring a team back to Seattle.

Ugh. I'm recently starting to care about this as my job is impacted by the Olympics and without the NHL the Winter Olympics won't be as well attended. And considering 2014 is in Russia this year there is enough to discourage as is
12
@11 - the current NHL lockout won't affect the olympics. The IIHF sets up international tournaments, not the NHL.
13
@12. That's true but because of the lockout a lot of NHL players might not be able to play in 2014. I'm hoping the whole thing is just excessive panic.

Please wait...
