So who are you trying to blame here? Basketball or his parents? It's Onyeuku's fault he was a thief and his fault only that he was shot dead.

Another post where Charles disregards reality when it fails to help make his point. 29 is not "already old" or "in the twilight." It may be the "mid-afternoon," but not twilight. Not for basketball players, anyway. Maybe for gymnasts.

Dear Honorable Sir!

My name is Chinedu Onyeuku, son of the late Prince Onyeuku of the City of Port Harcourt. I have some magnificent news which, Lord willing, I hope to share with you. I recently discovered that you are the most prestigious owner of fine jewelry, Blue Ray player and marvelous flat screen technology. In exchange for letting myself and my princely brother relieve you of these properties, my father will place sum $5 million in your bank account for safe holdings!

Yours in Jesus!

Chinedu Onyeuku

Except for Denver Broncos QBs.

Age seems to work there.

Low oxygen content?

It depends on the sport. I don't think 29 is that old for basketball.

29 is not old for basketball players. Depending on the source, the average retirement age for an NBA player seems to be 33-38. Even if a player stays all four years in college, they can reasonably expect to play for 10 years. The minimum NBA salary is somewhere north of $300K. Worst case scenario, an NBA player makes about $3 million over his career.

Onyeuku was't washed up, he apparently just wasn't a good enough player to get into the NBA (or even one of the other, lesser leagues) and make enough for a living, and he didn't work on any other skills to sustain himself.

Given the useless piles of shit most pro players are even after attending colleges they would never have been allowed anywhere near based on academics, it's unfortunate they don't just kill themselves after they're washed up and have spent all their money on 'bling'. Fuck 'em. Leave them in those urban concentration camps that Chuckie would like to build for everyone.

You all sound very ignorant and disgusting. Nedu was not a thief and he was not a criminal. He was, however, a loving father who played a huge role in his two son's lives. He was an amazing brother that supported and cared for his sisters. He was the type of son that a lot of parents wished they had. He made everyone proud. Those who truely knew Nedu could tell you the type of person he really was regardless of how the newspaper portrayed him in his death. He was an honest, caring, loving person who's smile lit up a room. The type of friend that would be there for you in the toughest of times. I will pray for all of you that speak ill upon him, his family, or his legacy. It is extremely sad what people will say and the assumptions that some make without any facts. Let's take a minute and pray that you all are never placed in a situation where you lose a loved one in such a tragic way. Regardless of the picture you all are trying to paint of Nedu, he will be remembered by those who knew and loved him for the person he was his whole life not the person he has been made out to be by blogs, newspapers, and meda
