I agree with your mother.

Good Woman.
3
I'm there.

A march is a great idea, but I think instead of the usual government offices there should be nationwide marches on all of the local NRA chapters, or perhaps the homes of prominent local Republican politicians and loudmouths.
6
"Rebs". Very nice. And yeah, I'd march.
7
Well, you know, I'd march and all, but it's Friday. Plus I still have some shopping to get done. Somebody really needs to do something about this, though, it's outrageous.

WWJD?

"If you do not have a sword sell your cloak and buy one"
-Jesus (Luke 22:36)

Keep in mind that the sword was the "assault weapon" of Jesus' day.
9
When? Where? Please?
10
@8: "Though shall not kill."
It was so important it got top billing.

Wanna keep cherry-picking bullshit out of The Bibble?
11
@8 NO NO NO NO NO.
12
@8: You're insane. I do not mean that facetiously.

so now we see where Dom gets it....

or rather, doesn't.

@8 I agree. Jesus has been marketed as a 'bringer of peace,' when even the slightest empirical evidence shows that He is not. He is a God of War, and that's what he has brought for the past two millenia.

WWJD? We know what he did! He blessed the gun, the blessed the bullets, and now the killer is sitting in Heaven, reaping his Heavenly reward. John Prine was wrong: Jesus DOES like killing, He likes it a lot, and wants more.

@8 - And the very next thing out of Jesus's mouth was "For It is written: ‘And he was numbered with the transgressors’; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment.”

Remember, this was the Last Supper, and Jesus knew he would be captured the next day. He just wanted his disciples to have swords in order to fulfill this prophecy.

Remember: Jesus actually WANTED to be arrested and crucified, so to say he intended his disciples to use just two swords to fight off the Romans and get him out of that situation is not only tactically preposterous, it's blasphemy. (Well, for believers, anyway.)

Speaking of swords, does this saying sound familiar? "All who live by the sword will die by the sword." That was Jesus, too.

@10

Arguably it is "Thou shall not murder" and god did command a whole lot of killing, but despite my genetic heritage I don't really base my life on a book of Jewish fairy-tails
17
Please do. Please.

Dom;

My love to your mom. She and your dad were some of my best clients ever. Getting to turn your dismal front yard into a bit of paradise was amazing.

Listen to her.

All that's missing is When and Where.

After that we make it an annual event until the NRA realizes it can't put armed guards at every Kindergarten and can't stop the killing even if the Kindergarten teacher is packing.

How many K-12 teachers armed to the teeth would come unglued and make their worst charges dance?

When, where? Do it!

Dan

A solemn memorial is much more appropriate than an anti-gun march. Nutty people will find ways to hurt innocents, with or without guns. What next, we ban knives? Then after knives, cars? Why not prosecute parents for feeding kids junk food? After all, diabetes, heart disease, and other health problems associated with diet are far more likely to kill. I will agree that gun magazines need not hold more than 10 or so bullets. But, you can have my guns when you pry them out of my cold dead hands.

Please wait...
