Goldy, shame on you. I agree with you in need for reasonable gun control legislation; but I hardly think that the very disturbed young man who mowed down those darling angles was thinking about constitutional law at the time.

California Representative Fortney Hillman "Pete" Stark leaves Congress this month after 40 years serving several San Francisco bay-area districts.

Stark was instrumental in passing health-care laws of critical importance to the unemployed/under-employed, COBRA and EMTALA.

He's another of a vanishing breed that worked cordially and effectively across the aisle.

He's also the first openly atheist member of Congress [Wikipedia].

It looks like India, like America disagrees that the 17-year-old male is an adult man.

I don't know the facts of his involvement, but it may be a maximum three-year sentence is not unreasonable.
