Now all the Seahawks need is something to put in their trophy case.
7 divisional titles in one of the NFL's historically weakest divisions (remember the 7-9 divisional title?), 1 conference title, and a 48% win percentage after a 37 year history is not much to crow about. Or whatever hawks do.
Suppose I'm happy for the hawks who seem to have a pretty fun team that's worth embracing by a city that deserves one. That said, the DC flag is a really cool, simplistic, black & red, star/stripe pattern that serves as a source of local pride for folks of that region. Was widely incorporated into a lot of the album covers & logos of some really important and influential punk bands from the 80's.
@6, if you include the first season, the Seahawks have only been in the NFC West for 12 seasons, and they've won the division 5 times and the Conference once. That's pretty good.
In the AFC, the other 25 years, they won the division only twice and never won the conference. But the AFC West was a pretty good division back then, with some of the best years for the Raiders and the Broncos.
Man, that is a pathetic looking flag. I blame McGinn for sending such a small flag and the DC mayor for putting it in a bad spot. It was fun to see so many Seattleites there taking pictures.
