But I thought that when someone opens fire at a public place, the best (and only truly constitutional!) way to stop it is for a real murkin gun owner to calmy draw his weapon, carefuly aim, and flawlessly put down the shooter.

And Canada has its own share of dipshits: two boys in Dorval, Quebec (that's north of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine), 12 and 16 were PLAYING with a handgun when the 12 yo dispatched a bullet into his brother, killing him. Yeeha, n'est-ce pas?
The only plausible explanation is that the person firing the gun is behind the cameraperson and everyone is running toward the shooter before pulling out their guns to stop them.
