Charles, you really seem to work hard to justify the trolls' low opinion of you. In case you were unaware, Obama doesn't really have the option of living in his home, both because it's in Chicago and because the necessary security arrangements would devastate the neighborhood (which already suffers when he visits), and Obama also had a net worth of roughly zero (between his and Michelle's mortgage and student loans) until he was made (modestly) wealthy by sales of his books and audiobooks after his 2004 Senate run. Obama couldn't easily afford to donate 90% of his salary if he wanted to, as American Presidents are charged for their family's meals and housekeeping expenses; nor would anyone but a moron want to restrict public office to martyrs and to people so independently wealthy that the can sneer at they salary that comes with their public office.
Isn't there something a little bit desperate about Uruguay? The sun rises in the east, but it passes to the north. The nation clings to the continent, its fingers slipping, tired and cramped, the hungry Atlantic waiting like a wolfhound.
So, President Mujica just cost 42 Uruguayans their livelihoods. But, on the plus side, they'll make it up by becoming eligible for that money he contributes to house the homeless.
Charles, you make us Marxists look bad when you can't do 5% of 400k. Yes, I know the article you linked used to be wrong, but your post came after a post saying he was giving back based on the full year's salary by Paul Constant.
Now that's hardcore.
