They just showed an ad for Christian Mingle, followed by one for a gizmo that dispenses plastic wrap for people too stupid to operate a cardboard box.
2
This is the byproduct of the 24hr news trying to compete with the instanet.

Fnarf, have you found God's match for you?

@3, they hooked me up with a tortilla with the image of the Virgin Mary on it, so yeah, I'm good.
5
@4 - Make sure you steam that a little before you date it, but let it cool. You don't want it to be all dry and brittle, but you also don't want to scald yourself on the image of the blessed virgin.

We get the quality of news coverage we demand, or that advertisers demand, or that keeps us watching or something.
I remember when cable news (consarn'd kids!) was new and a lot of people proudly proclaimed themselves News Junkies as if they were better informed than most of us because they couldn't make themselves look away from the talking box. I thought that was stupid then and it feels ten times stupider now.

I think CNN has had more than 15 minutes of shame, but who am I to quibble?
8
There are plenty of reasons to avoid the corporate media. Besides this shameful grandstanding, CNN & most other networks were shameless cheerleaders for the disastrous war in Iraq. They don't deserve *any* audience!

"CNN is completely full of shit."
-Paul Constant, Journalist

Wow you are leaning instead of just emulating.

My first thought was "I wish Wolf Blitzer would die in a fire," but on second thought, the national news figures I DON'T want to die in a fire consist pretty much of Rachel Maddow and Steven Colbert.

We demand instant 24 hour news coverage, and this is what happens. You can get stories instantly, or you can wait a touch and get accurate stories.

Demanding instant, researched, and factual stories is like demanding European style social programs, but refusing to pay taxes for them.

@11 Very well put. And very well put.

Please wait...
