These renderings look promising. I'm kinda surprised by the whole brown theme vs. the white, but it seems complementary. I also kinda like that the new wing appears as an adjunct; it doesn't try to compete with the "main-ness" of the existing (main) wing.
My hope is that the same will be true of the new western art collection. TAM already does a wonderful job with modern and contemporary art, and that's a worthy brand to preserve.
It's interesting that Kundig's rendering shows the streetcar proceeding north along Pacific. It currently veers west through the miserably bleak Tollefson plaza across the street. I'd like to hope for a re-alignment in the near future.
Has found my way through nearly all of the public and private spaces of this cultural institution, including the loading dock, where my artwork received calibrations of a significant nature, transpired for a week during the Spring of 2012. One edifies exponentially in relation to a built environment when exposed to an edifice's humble orifices.
As an art museum it would make a good LINK station.
