so if you don't like election results and the prez is getting somewhat authoritarian, protect and get the army to do a coup!

this is a great way to build democracy, right?

Happy Nazi Spying Agency (NSA) Day, America!

Oh, events at Gas Works are free 12-7 today and 10:15 for fireworks. Don't litter, at least try to get it near the trash cans, pack out what you bring in.

George Zimmerman will be free by Labor Day.

Of all the people in Alabama who have threatened to kill the President, how come the only person they've put in jail is some black kid?
5
Trivia: the first wife of that computer mouse inventor was named Ballard Fish.

The Zimmerman case is sounding more like pre-mediated murder by a psychopath, laid out months in advance.

He created the perfect crime.

By studying self-defense and the Stand Your Ground law, then picking the stereotype that would rally most people (racists) to his side, Zimmerman turned himself from a killer to a victim.

Not content to simply kill, he also stalked, and pummeled Martin and then had the temerity to say that he was somehow attacked (by a child that was screaming, why are you following me...what do you want).

Only Zimmerman had martial arts training, and several witnesses described the martial-arts style blows being delivered. None of Martin's DNA on the gun, yet Zimmerman says they wrestled for it.

A central trait of a psychopath is blaming the victim. They twist the truth so that it appears they are innocent meanwhile shoving the blame on their path of victims.

For Zimmerman, this had nothing to do with race except that he could count on an army of hateful people to back him up as his willing dupes so the he could unleash his urge to kill.

I know this makes me anathema to some here, but today I'm going to think about how incredibly lucky and grateful I am to live in this great country. Viva America!

One month in jail and 11 months probation & community service. No need for the expense for long prison sentences for Twitter trash.

You realize, of course, that Obama did explain why he's spying on US citizens. You can accept or reject the argument (I reject it), but don't pretend you haven't heard the case made. I'm tired of this bad faith bullshit. If you don't like it, campaign against it, vote for candidates that don't support it, write your elected officials, etc., but for the love of god, drop the babe in the woods routine.

Flying several flags today: the 48-starred World War version of Old Glory, the 33-starred Civil War version, and the Rainbow Flag.

Happy 4th everyone! We truly live in a great country that gets it right in the end.

Don't forget the Fourth Amendment either!

#4 - Maybe because he was the only one stupid enough to make a second round of threats after he was already warned by the Secret Service?

"Obama Will Explain Why He's Spying on European Allies: He'll meet with officials to "discuss intelligence and privacy issues." I wonder when he'll explain domestic spying to us?"

When the Patriot Act passed in 2006, the surveillance that we see now was authorized and made legal. Perhaps Americans should have been vocal right after it was passed instead of waiting for an administration to use its provisions to act shocked.

@15: The Bush Administration used the Patriot Act too. IOKIYAR

Please wait...
