Clark considers standing against murderous homophobia to be a wedge issue in Seattle?
2
Since when did doing the right thing become a political issue?

I'm sure she's opposed to it on a personal level. But isn't there enough for the city council to do without having to pass resolutions about the happenings in another country? I'd love to see everybody from the city council show up to protests and write letters, but I'd also rather they kept their roles on the city council to Seattle business...there's lots that needs doin'!

Is this the future of Seattle politics ? It's not enough to be bogged down in city issues but now we must judge if they participate in protests and parades or the right protests and parades to align with our views ?

I know you love you some Sawant but if all our electeds act like that, we're farked. Forget about even attempting to get Olympia to take the city seriously.

@4 - Olympia's entire purpose seems to be fucking Seattle over at every opportunity, let alone taking us "seriously." And yet you're gung-ho about importing that attitude into the Mayor's office.

I'm pleased to see that Duran Duran's keyboardist and Ed Murray can sit down together and have a nice chat.

Please wait...
