It's also the 72nd anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Follow @RealTimeWWII on Twitter. It's pretty fascinating.

I can't read the Arabic, but those splits are pretty far from JCVD

Also noted Seattle architect Fred Bassetti passed away yesterday. With Steinbrueck, he was instrumental in saving the Pike Place Market. And he did a lot of other cool things for Seattle. Rest in peace Mr. Bassetti, and thanks for all your good works.

Nice one, Ansel...

Leave it to a libertarian - um, an 'anarchist' - to call a neoliberal a "liberal".

What is a bananza?
6
What does "you started this fight" even mean? Unless it's the fight to force Republicans out of their delusional world.

@3: Seattle Times:

In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Mr. Bassetti joined with Steinbrueck in opposing a plan to bulldoze and redevelop Pike Place Market.

What a tragedy that would have been.

Carbon caps, tax, and credits are not inherently anti-Republican, or anti-conservative ideas - as it is a tax on consumption and a cost of doing business. The problem is that most people are skeptical that even the minuscule affect of reducing carbon emission would have on the overall global climate, especially when big polluters like China are not engaged. But you have to start somewhere guess - but it's all so discouraging.
9
@8 what's discouraging is waffling like that, which results in absolutely nothing getting done. I'm not really sure what your definition of "most people" is. Republicans aren't really people.
10
Everyone should remember Pearl Harbor.
