And whenever you "like" a music artist it pretends you like the corporation that sells you their music, even though you hate their guts.

I want a button that says, "this is quite possibly the dumbest thing you've posted today" or just "idiot."

Very often someone will post something in Facebook like a relative passing away or child having an illness.

You want to sympathize by pressing Like...but you don't really want to say "I Like that your Grandpa passed away".

Do you?

I realllllly want all those metastasizing social-media floating button bars to die die die. Sometimes they're just in the way of reading; sometimes they really mess with print-to-.pdf if they're the only thing the print function sees.

AdBlock can make some of 'em disappear, but not others.

Don't like it: don't use Facebook. I don't and my life is richer and more rewarding for it.
6
I don't have to limit my time on facebook because I'm too busy painting frowny emoticons on my cave walls.
7
They don't have a dislike button because that would end relationships. Fuck advertising; whether or not that's their reason for being, nobody will use FB if your shit is downvoted like a youtube comment.

Dislike buttons are a nightmare to police and they are the first functionality after Alert to be abused. That translates into being a huge CS money suck. You gotta know that when both marketing & CS don't like something (not as common as you might think) it goes way down the dev list.

It did feel awkward hitting "like" on the postings if Mandella dying.

reddit has downvote buttons, they work great.

Facebook is still around?
15
Facebook needs a "Shut up" button.

You know what's better than a sympathize button on a post that someone's grandma has died? Leaving a fucking comment telling the person you sympathize.

Hear, hear!

Please wait...
